Peterman’s interception at 12:38 to end that game was the cherry on top of the best Christmas gift a Bills fan could have asked for.
@C L It would honestly really hurt the Texans. You’re right, the Bears don’t really need a pick in the top 5, so they’ll trade down and give it to another team who will take a QB that the Texans might want. Doesn’t matter anyway though. Unless the Texans are stupid, they’ll stay a half game behind the Bears and at least end the season with a little pride.

@SCJ 100%. The Bears are the only team in NFL that legitimately have no talent or any star players (Justin Fields is becoming one, but not yet). If it wasn’t for him, I doubt they’d have a win. Luckily they have the most cap space in the NFL so they can hopefully get talent next year.
I got to see Josh scramble and score at towards end of game right in front of me. It was the nail in the coffin for the Bears. So that was my favorite part
Thank God for Coach McDermott and Co. Adjustments at half time. First half was awful. The 2nd half was good. Especially run game. Turnovers… we lead league and are negative in that stat. That’s awful. Defense did what I’ve seen them do often which is a signature play and I think is elite. They “dont panic” and they settle in and adjust and slowly hold teams down. Even with Offense turnovers and 12 times this year we won. 3 times we just couldnt overcome our offense turnovers. So that’s encouraging. We finally got some takeaways…. but held Fields with Spy like I said. We held pass def well. We held run def well. We are good at redzone defense…
The best thing about offense. Was the use of Gilliam. Morris. Knox. Hines. Cook. Singletary. Etc. Just keep using all those players. It will open for Beasley, McKenzie, Diggs, Davis, Shakir…
Thankfully we WON. Thankfully we adjusted. Thankfully we keep winning “which is” a good sign. But like the Coaches and Players say “We need to get better”.
I think in a strange way we look good even though we are not playing playoff football style much less SB… but we ended up beating a team that Eagles struggled with and looking at NEXT Bemgals … we could easily play them?we match up well and NE Nearly beat them. So… I’m stiall excited for our chnaces… but we gotta work on many things.
@David Ha Tran Yes, some mediocre to poor teams played well. That is not my concern, nor my point. The concern for the Bills is that they played down to their competition, eking out last minute wins, allowing teams to hang around within one score, relying heavily on 3rd and 4th down conversions, and counting on Josh Allen heroics. Will that formula get them the Lombardy Trophy? It could. However, relying on their running backs and not Josh Allen to run the ball (which they did effectively against Chicago), and making intelligent passing decisions where Allen is not trying to win the game all by himself, will serve them better against the Chiefs, Bengals, 49ers, Eagles, and other top-tier teams. Josh will still be there to make the last-minute magic happen if need be, but I would rather have a boring, grind it out win, then another one of the greatest, most exciting games ever, in which we lose (’20 and ’21 playoffs against the Chiefs, this year against the Vikings).

Eh I think the Bills as crazy as it sounds are using the end of the season to pad some things out. This team is going to turn it on come playoff time and the league ain’t ready for it.
@Scott Dodge If true, that is a dangerous philosophy. Athletes and teams rarely just “turn it on come playoff time.” In the playoffs, every team is good (except whoever comes out of the AFC south and NFC south) and every team will be turning it on.
@Glenn Anderson agreed, but I think this is what happened last season to the Bills as well. The bright side is this year they didn’t have quite the mid-season slump and if they can beat Cincinnati and secure home field advantage then I’m pretty confident the Bills represent the AFC this year. I generally see the Bengals as a more legit threat then the Chiefs because we’ve played them less and they have a decent Defense. If we are talking complete team, it’s buffalo

Allen was mediocre today and Diggs didn’t see the ball as much, but the run game was a big improvement for the bills and i am glad they are using it more.
I’ll never forget the time I met Josh Allen. I was working as a contractor in the back hallways of the practice facility when he came walking by. He had to slow down and kind of squeeze by me as I was on a step ladder in the hallway.
As he got even with me, he stopped right in front of me as I was facing outward with my back to the step ladder and facing him.
He looked up, smiled and said “grope ya later” then gave my privates a firm but playful squeeze. He then walked away. It was the strangest thing ever.

@Vulcan Raven When do we start another new QB? Everyone says he’s fine, he needs Oline support but I say bullshit. So tired of having the 86 Super Bowl to fall back on. That was like a hundred damn years ago.
Lastly, he has been getting better every game passing wise. So it’s not like we are waiting on that like we did with Mitch. Mitch never progressed as a passer but Fields has been trending in the right direction since like week 8.
@Zoooma you guys see the stat during the game, that in 100+ years, zero Bears qbs have thrown for 4000 yds in a season? Josh Allen has done it 3 times in his 5 years. Let Fields be a position player/gadget guy and draft/develop a real qb.
The run game and defense helped the Bills win. Josh Allen is awesome but has to reduce unnecessary turnovers/interceptions if they want to go all the way this year.
Yes. I agree 100%. Don’t always need the big throw or flashy play. Run was more effective this game.
Allen has been guilty of too many unforced interceptions lately. Gotta improve if we wanna go all the way
I am so proud of my Bills and you know what, a lot of these other underdog teams right now. This is a great growing season and really enjoy the close games that are anxiety filled haha. It’s been a while since I’ve seen my Bills love to play and you can the team really are in unison. Good luck to these other teams fighting for the playoffs, go Bills!

I honestly didn’t think Cook would be very effective running in between the tackles considering his build, but he looks great. It seems like he always gets positive yards. Great vision, quickness, speed.
Don’t get too excited about anyone’s performance against this historically bad Bears defense.
A+ running game. Motor and Cook averaged 9 yards per carry.

Poor Chicago, they need some playmakers, a better O-line, and linebackers. Fields have what it takes to be a top-notch QB, but he needs better supporting players.

@Michelle Tackett me too, I like they are moving on with young talent and all. But trading away smith took what was left of a somewhat alright defense and completely killed it. We need good linebackers and defensive core that can make big plays happen on the other side of the ball

That first interception was on Josh Allen. The second one was also on him but I believe he was aiming for cook and not only overthrew it a little bit but I think the wind also affected it.
This is what the bills need to do. If they can establish a true running game, they’re gonna be damn near impossible to stop. Can’t be allen for all 60 minutes doing it all. He needs help and more balance offensively
Congrats on another dub bills. The Bill’s have tons of weapons on defense and on offense as well. The first half was atrocious but I’m glad the bills did a better job in the second half. Happy holidays to all and merry Christmas everyone, sincerely a niners fan.
