Tyreek Hill leaving Chiefs signals 'end of an era' – Chris Simms | Pro Football Talk | NBC Sports

Dr. Wan PharmD

Tua at QB for Tyreek certainly is a downgrade but he gets the money he truly desires. Good luck to Hill and the Dolphins.

    Angie B

@TerraHerr11 Chiefs were paying him 18mil and the Dolphins are going to pay him 40mil

    Wifehaver69

    @Angie B 30mil*

    Montrell Bess

WE ARE NOT A DOWNGRADE WE KNOCK WHAT WE DOING TRUST AND BELIEVE LETS GO DOLPHINS 🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬

    Dacoda 82

@Montrell Bess Tua Turndaballova don’t got the arm strength to utilize Hill properly lol

    Montrell Bess

@Dacoda 82Β  He better start practicing lmao

Bryan Saytumah

Thank you for saying it Mike. The NFL is an arms race now and it’s thanks to the Rams!

    Joebin

@Bryan Saytumah It isn’t sustainable so enjoy it while it lasts.

    Bryan Saytumah

@Joebin thats kind of true but literally no model is sustainable in the modern Era of football. You have to rebuild(or re-tool) every 4 years even if you built through the draft.

    Joebin

@Bryan Saytumah Not if you have an elite QB. Chiefs window is always open every year Mahomes is on the field.

    Bryan Saytumah

@Joebin Matthew Stafford for the lions. Deshaun Watson for the Texans. Andrew Luck for the colts. Matt Ryan with the Falcons. Lol and those are the good qbs. I don’t even need to go over how hard it is to find a qb like that but even if you do that may not mean anything

    Joebin

@Bryan Saytumah None of the QBs you just mentioned are on Mahomes Rdgers or Brady or montana type of level.

amstel 54

The Dynasty that (never) was 🀭

    James Fagan

@amstel 54 Tim Tebow is gonna have more playoff wins than Mac Jones

    amstel 54

@Tech Titan Haha another Chiefs fan crying into his pillow at night πŸ˜…πŸ€£ You must have missed all the reports that Deflategate was a joke and the NFL covered up all their screw ups in the matter. Nice try though πŸ‘

    amstel 54

@Tech Titan OLD TAKE πŸ™„ WHAT IS IT 2007 πŸ™„ The NFL goofed and if you’re a team that’s worried about air pressure (like the Chiefs 🀭) YOU AIN’T HAVING NO DYNASTY!!!! Just lost your most EXPLOSIVE player., Stick a fork in the Chiefs πŸ˜›πŸ˜…πŸ€£ πŸ₯³

Xi Yang

Great GM are gonna love this style of NFL. Pats and Chiefs whom can turn 4th n 5th rounders into stars gonna love drafting in the first and second.

    Joebin

@House What does stars have to do with it? Hill was a 5th round selection BTW lol. A starter in the 4th and later is a huge deal. Do you know much about the draft?

    Joebin

@House BTW Sneed was pacing for defensive rookie of the year before he broke his collar bone and on the “redraft” they had him as a top 15 pick

    House

@Joebin atleast read the fucking thread πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.Dude clearly said the Pats & Chiefs turn 4th & 5th rounders into STARS not starters.Every fucking team in the league has starters that were mid round picks. That aint special

    Man Man

FAM THE CHIEFS ARE NOT THE PATRIOTS YALL GOTTA STOP THAT SHII BRO LOL THE CHIEFS ARE DONE

Greg Brewer

I’ve watched every Super Bowl: This past season, playoffs and postseason is the most interesting and exciting EVER!!!

    Jwalk Hooligan

28-3 had more excitement and suspense wrapped in one game than all these playoff games combined this past season.

    Alex Wang

    @Jwalk Hooligan no

    Paul Cowart

Post season yes but SB was a bit anti climactic IMO Still a good game but ??

Harry Hanz

Half of the QB-WR dynamic gonna be there in Miami for Hill.

Don juan

Once again the pats was doing this before the rams

Larry30102

One thing that isn’t talked much about Tyreek is his football intelligence. This last year he had a couple of terrible drops, just generally speaking though, that’s an aberration (generally really GREAT hands). He is always aware of the yd sticks, aware of defenses, aware of how to position himself to get open or be targeted, aware of the clock. He always gave himself up for the ball. Gave 100% when he wasn’t 100%. These are things I’ll miss, besides the obvious generational talent. So yeah Chris…end of an era hopefully the beginning of a new.

    Joebin

He was one of the top players in drops. Him and Kelce both. One thing that really isn’t talked about is when things aren’t going well for him he is a bit of a pouter.

    LJ

I think these guys on @NBC Sports are making Tyreek into more than he is:

    I get that he’s exciting –

But the 49ers dynasty did not start with Jerry RIce – (and Jerry was better than Tyreek)

The Niners won 2 SBs before Rice was even drafted…. That’s what a lot of people don’t even get when they talk about joe Montana…

Mahomes will be fine without Tyreek – there will be other speedy guys…

The Chicago Bears had a speed guy in 2006 – he was a rookie – …. Devin Hester.

The next year or 2, they drafted another guy about just as fast – Johnny Knox …. in the 7th ROUND!!!!

And Johnny caught plenty of big 1st downs and Touchdowns. One time Chris Colinsworth even said “Someone has to make a play here… and I think that guy on this team is Johnny Knox”

So you can find fast guys like that in the draft.

Ray Harris

I can’t tell you how stinkin happy I am to not be hearing about Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers drama drama drama. Thank you Tyreek

AlchemicalAudio

The simple truth is KC can’t afford what Tyreek wants… that is the equation. There is nothing else to discuss about what KC should have or could have done.

    BuffaloRocks!

They might get him back. Give it a season

    Thomas Economous

@BuffaloRocks! You didn’t listen to what they said. Miami is not going to get rid of him even if he plays poorly. They will have paid him 52M after one year and given up 5 picks. He will be in Miami for 3 years regardless of how badly he plays. After that it won’t matter because at 31 years old he will be in decline.

BikeRider1965 Giant

Very happy the Dolphins got Tyreek. But let me bring some perspective: Tyreek’s first year in 2016, 61 receptions with 593 yds and 6 tds, Jaylen’s first year in the NFL, with Tua as his qb whom many consider an average qb at best, 104 receptions with 1,015 yds with 6 tds.

    VaderRaider

Hill was a 5th rounder!!!!!!! Look I hate him but what he did as a 5th rounder rookie was pretty good honestly.

    Rusty Reese

@VaderRaider that and he was basically used on special teams for his rookie year. It took him a while to break out of that role.

    K C

He WAS #2 Wr behind Maclin and he was the best punt returner

Tracy Branson

Thank you Chris. I didn’t know words to how I felt, and it was sadness of the end of some of the best Chiefs football. It won’t be the same. I still don’t understand it except money.

    Mo B

There is nothing else to understand except money.

    Jason Vo

Chief’s dynasty lasted as long as Seattle’s Legion of Boom …

    Big Man

@Jason Vo I said the Chiefs/Mahomes was gonna be like Seattle/Wilson last year but all these analysts swore the Chiefs could win 3-4 in a row

    Stephen Granger

He doesn’t catch the ball consistently, and that’s being generous. He’s hurt and misses more time each year. Not to mention the NFLs golden rule, never pay a slot receiver like he’s the X receiver. Let the Dolphins pay for that. Chiefs kingdom thanks you Miami for the generous offer of 5 picks in return.

    Big Man

@Stephen Granger Hill lead the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns, he’s the receiver your whole success was built around so if you don’t want to pay the receiver that meant that much to your team then he was right to leave. I hope Chiefs kingdom enjoys those 5 picks and not making it to anymore SuperBowlsπŸ˜‚

scottyjoe22

Pure joy in Miami…Fins up!

Jwalk Hooligan

Special combination that has the same amount of Super Bowls as the Jeff Hostetler to Mark Ingram Sr combination. Brings joy to my heart thinking about the dynasty that wasn’t AKA the continuation of Bradys actual dynasty. Sleep well chief fans 🀣

    njay

Don’t worry. Ain’t nobody talking about the patriots and tom brady LOOOOOOOOL

    James Fagan

Still better off than your team by a MILE

    Tech Titan

Well anybody can have a dynasty when you CHEAT in the WEAKEST division I’ve ever seen, even with a great coach, and an elite qb.

Philly Fans

So Chris why didn’t you say this about Aaron Rodgers taking a team friendly deal so he could keep his freaking #1 receiver, never speak on a player getting his bag.

MarxAviano

He wanted to be able to say he’s the highest paid receiver more than anything.

    K C

He will regret it when Chiefs start the year 6 and 0 and the Dolphins are 0 an 6 lol

Patrick Healy

He’s getting older, he still has those well-documented off-field problems, and between those two that’s way too much guaranteed money. Smart move for the Chiefs long-term.

Josh Steeby

Tyreek also loves being a kid and just watch his social media. He takes alot of risks in the off-season with his basketball/ footraces and who knows what else… With the injury risk and I believe he is slowing down some. Chiefs made the right move.

Diane

“Guys like Tyreek Hill don’t grow on trees…
He’s special ”
This is true. Will miss him. I wish him great success in Miami.

Norman Castor

I say more power to Tyreek may he do well in Miami. I think it’ll open things up for the other players more. The other players are not going to have the pleasure of just sitting back and let Tyreek get them out of a third and thirty predicament anymore. If you know what I mean.
