Hi Doug, thanks for all your years on and off the field. Your insights and knowledge of the game speak for themselves. What an outstanding career! Thanks for the memories!

Legend. Didn’t miss a game until he was literally forced by a technicality to miss one his entire career. Nobody deserves a happier retirement than DD!

OMG this video brought tears to my eyes. Seeing the old stadium where I saw many Browns and Indians games. (I’m 62)This makes me sad. Great guy and a true legend. You the man Mr. Dieken.

I'm Happy

God Bless and enjoy your retirement. You will be missed!

Having trouble playing this video. This man has never not been a part of my 42 years here.

Nathan Zegura may have first dibs on that seat — he did a solid job as a sub for Dieken a couple years ago. Truth be told – though – the best Browns radio team was Gib Shanley w/ Jim Graner.

Well bummer. Crappy note to end on but Diek is the best.

Thanks Doug! Enjoy and Go Browns!

Well I’m a little short of 3 weeks of being 3/4ths of a century old so I’ve been watching or listening to Browns games for a long time. Doug was one of my all time favorite players and he has been great on the radio with Jim and the others that came before. Yes he is a legend and one of the nicest guys from what I’ve heard that you could ever know. Wishing him a long, happy and healthy retirement. He was, is, and always will be a true Cleveland Brown.

I was raised in Streator Illinois Doug’s hometown. Any boy who grew up in Streator in the 70’s and 80’s idolized Doug. Just a great guy i had the honor of meeting several times when he would return to Streator.

Thank you doug. Watched you play your whole career and listened to you broadcast for years. Wish all the Browns could be as dependable as you.
