Great great pick

Chach Wa

What else do the Steelers need?

    IvorMektin: Amber dropped a grumpy

    Nathan Tewkesbury

    @Ryan Saunders *WRONG*

    ThatKidWitTheAfro

Still could use cornerback, interior offensive and defensive lines could be spots to address too, more so d-line. Wide reviewer depth also is needed as well as linebacker and edge rusher depth.

    Brian Miller

@Nathan Tewkesbury uh, yes, they do need another CB. Are you telling me you expect Spoon and Levi to be starting 1 and 2 CBs? We are in for another long season on D with that plus an aging D-line. Oh, and our starting SS was just now signed for 1 more year, so who will be the starting SS next season?

    Reno Federighi

    OL DL Cornerback maybe

MARK NETHERCUTT

Here we go Steelers

*So glad the kings 👑 of the draft sat back, patiently waited and took the #1 QB in the draft. Easy to get caught up in the “combine” athletes and the hype train dudes. But not Colbert. Not Rooney. Not the Steelers. Which is why they are the kings 👑 of the draft. The draft “Football” players*

    Drake Barry

We build through the draft…the opposite of the rams recent philosophy. Steelers have the highest first round player retention rate—we pick well, keep and develop our players more than any other team. And under Colbert it’s like we can’t miss on a WR…the media says it whenever our front office is mentioned. It’s like when anyone talked about Hines ward it was almost required to say “and he’s the best blocking WR”

Bluto Mindpretzel

well I don’t see how he’ll play or why they bothered with Trubisky if this was the pick. Two great QBs but who will start? i don’t get it. Matt Canada’s playcalling needs to improve if they expect results.

    Drake Barry

@Bluto Mindpretzel training camp gonna be interesting

    Shane Howdeshell

    Desperation.

    Drake Barry

@Shane Howdeshell I mean ngl we def need a QB it’s obvious…idk how we are a desperate franchise. Needing something doesn’t equate to being desperate. If run defense tightens up and najee gets better play from the o line what stops us from making playoffs again? The Steelers are one of the greatest franchises in all of professional sports it’s more than the championships—the standard is the standard my guy. Here we go Steelers!

    random account

We got Trubisky for really cheap, it was a move that gave us some flexibility and frankly stability going into the draft. Trubisky was never guaranteed the starting job, he was always expected to earn it during the off-season and training camp. Trubisky is there as someone to help guide Pickett and help him out, and as a reliable back up. Since we got him on a cheap short contract, we can always move on from him after this season if Pickett lives up to the hype, or continue to keep him as a solid backup, or ship him out for a return.

    Silverback__92

Look at it this way…IF both Pickett AND Willis were gone by #20 then who would we have? There is no way to know who will be available prior to the draft. And injuries do happen and I have more faith in Trubisky than Rudolph.

VillainV3

I’m not even mad at the Pickett pick since I actually wanted him before free agency. I’m mad that with all the trades going on that they didn’t trade down and that signing Trubisky makes no sense now. They still could’ve gotten Pickett cuz no team after 20 needed a QB.

    Joe Y

Wouldnt want a team like Atlanta trading back into the first round to grab him though

    Jacob Miller

Could still start Mitch… took an injury for Ben to come in. We shall see

    Jacob Miller

and either way we don’t want mason to be QB2 regardless lol

Joseph Williams

Here come the Couch GMs….why dont we wait and see how it plays out before we doom and gloom like Steelers fans ALWAYS tend to do. I remember more than HALF of steelers fans didnt like the TJ Watt pick either….look how that turned out…point is I trust Colbert…he doesnt miss much on his 1st rounders…dont believe me look it up…worst 1st rounders were Ziggy Hood, Artie Burns, and Jarvis Jones (or he who shall not be named lol) but his track record for 1st rounders is pretty good and you never know what ANY draft pick will be so just wait it out.

Pete

Good pick for the Steelers, gives us great choices and options for the QB position.

Devante Cribb

This was a great pick

Brian Makido

Great pick! Go Kenny!!!

Scott Peskowitz

Another great selection by the Steelers

2cents Wanted

I’m genuinely confused how this makes sense. You can’t actually have 3 QBs competing for 1 spot. There is not enough reps to get a good scope of ability. If you claim that Kenny is going to sit and learn then it is a waste of a pick and your punting the ball to next season.

What happened to “the first 3 picks are starters” mentality. Kenny isn’t the best QB in this draft and not even the highest ceiling. He is in the exact same vain as Mitch and Mason so what did we actually change or improve on?

    bobsjess

You do realize that Tom Brady was picked at 199. Everyone said all the same things about Brady that you and others are saying about Pickett. No one knows what is going to happen have to wait and see.

    2cents Wanted

@bobsjess You do realize that Brady was under completely different circumstances than Pickett is correct? Brady played much better than Hansen and saved Michigan several times showing his clutch ability and grit. Pickett however is coming into a position where’s he’s battling 2 other guys who are comparatively the same with more experience. How does this help the Steelers now? And would Pickett have been there round 2? Yes

Way to go Tomlin and rhe Steelers, for a great pick, we wish Kenny and the Steeler all the luck! With our Dee-fence who know how far they will go! I’m a season ticket owner since 69, and never been more excited for this season!

Brendan Bugala

LETS GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Dan Kole

Another average QB. To big of a reach.

OpenXpace

Lol wow I didn’t know so many of you were expert drafters

Rockin' Pneumonia

Matt… thank you for helping me sleep at night. Listen to the drive everyday, and I know this probably wouldn’t have been your pick, but I get why they did it. Kinda bummed we won’t get to see Mitch run the show, but if Pickett hits… he could be Carr/ Burrow neighborhood which would be great obviously

Racer 7X

When was the last draft in NFL history where the VERY FIRST QB TAKEN was picked up at #20 and that QB turned out to be somebody. Any draft in history???

GoOn Rays

waste of a pick, he isnt better than any qb already on the roster. he had 1 fluke year when pitt didnt even play any ranked teams. good story, terrible pick
