@TheEnigmaticOpaque i agree with you about lock, but schurmur is not the best play caller, its not that the plays are bad, but he has a very deep shot offense, and he doesnt understand how to utilize the players to the best of THEIR abilities, all great coaches put their players in position for success, schurmur seems like he just wants to do things his way, thats why lindsay got injured last year, pat had him running up the middle, lindsay is a quick outside runner, not a power back, and he chooses to run certain plays at very weird times it seems like.

@Bananacut That’y my thinking to. IF one of these QB’s falls, then Paton might be very tempted to roll the dice. But that’s a big if especially after the Niners-Dolphins trade.
I say solidify the defense and give time for lock to improve, I think he’s got a lot of potential. last season was pretty unfortunate for the whole team considering this whole pandemic plus injuries like loosing Sutton, but once we got our keys guys back in the line up, I think he’ll be a lot better

If we’re gonna take a QB at all, we either trade up and try to get Wilson or Fields, or we could take Mac later on.
take someone later. trade back for more 2nd round picks and pack the D and O lines
specifically ILB or Tackles or somewhere that we are mediocre. Like if Watson is cleared he would want to go to a team that is well rounded out.
@Don Quixote true, but we cant waste time and rely on the hope that Watson is clear, and that he’d choose us IF he was even allowed to be traded. He’s got what? 14+ allegations now? Even if he’s innocent it’s gonna take a lot of time and evidence to clear his name, so I just don’t see Watson getting out of this in time for the season. So, there’s three logical options.
1: We draft Micah Parsons and give Lock another year to develop (keep in mind he didn’t have an off-season this year).
2: We trade up to draft a better QB.
3: We stay put and see if Mac or Lance falls down to us at 9.
When Trey Lance’s sample size is so small you have to show the same throw twice..
@Alienkingdubs ok, and your point is? people are using contradictions of that same exact argument to boost or degrade these prospects talent. It’s a dumb argument. Mac Jones, Lawrence, and Justin fields played with great teams that faced great competition. Trey lance and Zach Wilson played on not so great teams against not so great competition. It’s two sides of the same.

He rarely makes high level plays, most of his completions are nicely drawn up bootlegs and his highlights mostly are of him running the ball.

My goodness the ball just pops off of Wilson’s hand smh. He could be the next Rodgers. I think Fields will be something between Murray and Russell Wilson. Lance will be holding a clip board by year 4. I’d say Lock has the second most arm talent next to ZW. That kid is special. And apparently nobody covers tight ends against NDSU lol.

So does everyone else. Wilson, lawrence, jones. All 3 would be big boosts to denver and They will all be gone long before denver drafts. Im hoping at this point for offensive line, CB, or ilb help. If we are going to suck on offense, we might as well plan for a few years out and solidify the rest of the team.
Wilson is the real deal but we shouldn’t trade up, unless it’s for him. I’m not sure that Mac is better than lock. So don’t spend a 1 on him. Trade back and get Newman in the 3rd

Nope. We wont. Thanks 49ers. I hope I’m wrong about lock. We have had such a bad offense for so long, we need life. Id hoped last season would show something. It did and very little good. We have a star young cast at wide reciever(even without sutton), 2 stellar TE’s and we had phillip lindsey(idiots let him go), and we still looked boring on offense.
We need a qb but im pretty sure the 49ers just killed any hope of one worth drafting being there past 3. Denver needs a star at qb. Im tired of boring offense and star defense. If you cant put points up, why invest in defense? Yes it can win games through attrition but not if you cant even score. Get a team that can score first. Then build a defense.
