Zach Wilson Highlights from 2021 Season | New York Jets

Kind of reminds me of a rookie Russell Wilson. Put Wilson on that Seahawks team when Russ was a rookie, and they would have made the playoffs (not saying Russ is overrated. I think he is one of the greatest ever)

come on man really I mean you’re really that diluted that you can’t see reality. you’re trying to tell me Zack Wilson’s the best quarterback we’ve had in 60 years and he might be but the bar is not very high I was just talking to somebody else about this Chad Pennington is the best quarterback we’ve had since Joe Namath other than one year of Brett favre and 2 years a testaverde I don’t count that. Chad Pennington give me a break I like Chad but Chad didn’t have the throwing arm if he had a throwing arm he could have been a great quarterback he had the smarts he could get the ball where he wanted to but he didn’t have the strength in the arm but if somebody else knows I could think of another quarterback that was better than Chad Pennington tell me. I know Richard Todd had some moments I believe he played the AFC Championship game with broken ribs that was pretty got the oven but they still lost. I like Richard Todd at times I was very young but he wasn’t horrible wasn’t Joe Namath it wasn’t even Chad Pennington but he was wasn’t horrible. Pat Ryan who backed up Richard Todd also wasn’t bad they started 10 and 1:00 in 1986 10 and one I thought they were going to the Super Bowl that year the offense look like a machine it looked like the greatest show on turf they were blowing teams out like crazy with O’Brien at quarterback altoon and Wesley Walker on the outside andFreman McNeil at running back. they didn’t just get to 10 and one they steamroll to 10 and one where it looked like they could have a 15 in one season that offense for those 11 games was unstoppable and unbelievable then guess what on a Monday night they ran into Miami Dan Marino who they should have had on their team and he picked them to pieces and it wasn’t even close and the Jets never recovered they ended the season 10 and 6 meaning they lost their last five games have to be in 10 in one they squeaked into the playoffs at this point they had replaced Ken O’Brien with Pat Ryan and he won the first playoff game I think against Kansas City then they had to go to Cleveland with Bernie kosar and they had that game one it was over I can’t remember the strict details but it was a horrible set of events that allowed the browns I think to get it into overtime and win it in overtime. then they would have if they won that game they would have went to Denver and probably had a chance to win that game too but then they would have ran into the the 86 Giants and they would have got their asses kicked but at least they might have made it to a Super Bowl.
I’ve been a Jet fan for so long and been disappointed so much I mean look what’s happened to them Peyton Manning stayed in school nobody stays in school that’s his good as him and doesn’t jump to the NFL absolutely nobody look it up nobody you might get a 1% and he did he stayed in school from what I heard Archie Manning called Bill parcells and wanted to guarantee that if he declared for the draft he would be the number one pick which was a no-brainer there was no one else to pick but parcel said no I think he thought they were bluffing they weren’t bluffing he went back to Tennessee and ended up with Indianapolis so we lost out on DeShaun Watson we lost out on Patrick Mahomes we lost out on Peyton Manning Peyton Manning for Christ’s sake if we had Peyton Manning like we should have we’d at least have two Super bowls especially what part sells coaching he would have hung around longer you wouldn’t have quit after 2 years if we had wa had Manning and he knew we had his quarterback for the next 10 years and 15 years and didn’t have to worry about it I mean these are franchise changing decisions and I like parcels I think it was all him so I like him but I got to put the blame on him here because there was no one else to pick I can’t I can’t remember who they pick but it was like a defensive lineman it was somebody in no consequence and they gave up on on Manning because of that. like I said fast forward to 2017 Patrick Mahomes in DeShaun Watson sitting there but McCown Petty and hackenberger way better so why draft them. I think they also had a chance at Justin Herbert that year I don’t know I think they were before 6th in the draft but they had already drafted Sam darnold. I believe they ruined Sam’s Arnold I still think Sam Donald has all the tools to be a good quarterback but if you watch them at Carolina he had a great four games where he threw for 300 yards but as soon as he still like McCaffrey went out so they could just go full bore after him as soon as he started getting Rush rushed and getting hit he fell the pieces it’s like the Jets destroyed him I think he could be successful you get one of the best offensive lines in the league in front of him I bet you he could be the Sam Donald we saw on the first four games especially if McCaffrey’s healthy I wouldn’t give up on Sam yet and I tell you this I would much rather have Sam than Zack Wilson any day. and actually Mel kiper said the same thing before the draft even happened his exact words were if the Jets take Zach Wilson it’s purely a lateral move. what he meant by that is taking Zach Wilson and trading Sam darnold you’re not getting a better quarterback he actually graded Arnold higher than he graded Wilson coming out of college. now I don’t know what these GMS listen to it are a bunch of morons that make the stupidest mistakes the obviously stupid is mistakes how do you take a safety at number 6 I don’t care how good he is when you need a quarterback and there’s two sitting there look I’m done I’m done being a Jets fan this was my last straw I mean I can’t take it I can’t watch that Wilson who look like he just got off the plane from in a real League football game because I needed a quarterback it’s got in the uniform and stepped out there with a skinny little body and threw a bunch of interceptions I’m tired of it he belongs in the damn arena league Semi-Pro go to Canada wherever else they have football but not in the NFL

@Tristan Hudson hey I don’t want to be disrespectful so don’t take it disrespectful everybody has their opinion. but I saw I watched every game Zack Wilson played in from start to finish last year how you could say Zach Wilson has a bright future I have no idea. you say to strengthen the offensive line and they’ll do that it’s not going to make a difference give him wide receivers that’s not going to make a difference because he’s going to continue to throw the ball in the dirt the problem is at BYU he wasn’t touched ever not even close I watched every game he played at BYU on YouTube. he would sit back there for 5 minutes it seems until someone got open and they were playing teams like Navy army Jackson State alcorn State it’s not like he was in the SEC I’m still baffled by how he could have gone number two. I would never take a quarterback number two from BYU from that shitty conference now Jim McMahon and Steve Young were different because they put up these crazy numbers 4 years in a row Wilson’s numbers were entirely average until last year which was a covid rabbit season a lot of teams pulled out and a lot of players didn’t play. there’s nothing else to say just watch what happens I hope you’re right but I’ve been watching this since 1979 and my gut tells me there is no doubt Wilson will not even have a better season than last year and everybody will be calling for his head and the coaches had and Douglas’s head next offer off season and then they’re going to have to look for another quarterback just a carousel maybe they should bring Joe Namath out of retirement he’s only 80 something and he can’t do any worse

@James Smith take a look at the teams the Jets play next year and I see no reason we don’t win 7 games in the first 3 months and be in the conversation for a wild card in December. We might not get the wild card because the AFC west might take all those spots themselves lol

You said it. This is such a HUGE off season for us. If Joe D can hit this draft the way it looks like he hit last year we should be in really good shape. We got Zack Wilson, Vera Tucker, M Carter(RB), Elijah Moore, M Carter (CB) and to a lesser degree but still with good potential in Pinnock and Echols. That is a damn good draft. Carter the RB surprised me with just how good he is.Gotta be honest wasn’t a kid I seen much in College so I didn’t know much but damn can he be really good. And then add in Elijah Moore, that’s 2 huge offensive playmakers for us. When is the last time you can say that about the Jets out of a draft? Probably never. Moore was on absolute 🔥before injuries unfortunately cut his season short. So now going into this draft we actually have more overall picks then we did last draft and like you said 2 in the top 10 and 2 in the second. What a great trade that was getting rid of Jamal Adams to Seattle. That was some return right there. And poor Jamal got his money but he was cracking on us as a Franchise and now he got to Seattle too late. Too bad for him. Now we’re on the up and up. Let’s go Jets.

I agree. I saw more flashes here from Wilson than I did from Justin Fields who is still getting more hype about a second year jump. The Jets also have picks to build around Wilson while the Bears lost Allen Robinson and don’t have much to surround Fields with.

yeah I know it’s been 60 since name is I must have mistyped I talk into the phone because I had a cornea transplant I can’t type that’s why my words come out weird sometimes and I misspell things because the talk to text is bad but I can’t type right now but I knew it was 60 years if it came out five it’s my mistake and you’re right they haven’t had a quarterback since name it think about it who did they have who’s their next best quarterback that they ever had not counting one year or five and two of testaverde. @Paul C so you got to see a Super Bowl victory? I have not! Nearly have fans who are what 50 and under? I have been proud of the team and sure the last decade has been rough but I am excited by Saleh and Douglas. Wilson is electric. If you don’t want to be a fan and enjoy the experience, don’t be the bitter old dude ruining it for younger fans. Is this Joe Beningo? Lol! The Jets put out some HardKnocks type doc work on YouTube that is free to watch. One Jets Drive. The front office is thorough and from the Belichick and Newsome tree. Saleh is from Kyle Shanahan. Those are two of the most impressive backgrounds for each guy. I’m jacked! And if it doesn’t work out; guys get injured whatever, I’ll still be a fan. The world is a better place than it’s ever been and the Jets franchise is actually pretty exciting. Get on board!

and on top of it I don’t know if I mentioned this but it really doesn’t matter Zach Wilson is any good or not because he’s never going to be as good as Justin Herbert, Joe borough, Josh allen, Lamar jackson, and Patrick Mahomes he’s never going to be in that League of quarterback all of those guys were good as soon as they were put in the lineup they didn’t run out around like chickens with their head cuts off throwing the ball at the receiver in the Super Bowl. so what I’m saying best key scenario the Jets are going to get an average or slightly above average quarterback at the same time there’s going to be five of six whole of Fame quarterbacks in the AFC the meaning of that is the Jets are not going to the Super Bowl for the next 15 years at least unless they lock out get rid of Wilson and can find a John Elway in the draft
