I played softball the Friday night before the ’06 Draft, and when the news came on that Houston had signed Mario Williams, the entire bar I was at decided the Jets were going to get Reggie Bush… I woke up (very) early and took the train into NYC and went to the Draft – but I couldn’t get in! They kept telling us we’d get tickets but then as the Draft was starting, police came over and told us the NFL had lied to us, you had to have a wristband they gave out the night before … “What do we do now?!” === “Maybe find a bar to watch it… a Sports Bar maybe??!” … Everyone thought the Jets might take Matt Leinart at 4 and some sort of Defensive piece for Mangini at 29 … Drafting Nick & D’Brick was the best draft decisions the Jets have made since this year’s First Round. If only Mangini hadn’t been such a moron to insist on throwing away people who he deemed insuficient to play in his 3-4 (
