Find a better option than cutting Amari, if you plan on having any consistent potency at WR1. No one on the team & only 4 others can run as flawless a whole route tree AND create separation. If the defense plays off, get him the ball. Take what they give you because he’s going to go down or out of bounds if the big play isn’t available. That protects the possession, his body/availability, and that DC has to make a hard call to commit to press with a safety fully committed, man-zone with a safety fully committed, or keep giving him 4+ yards and experience death by a thousand cuts? It only takes 1 mistake and Amari will accelerate instantly…usually at the most advantageous angle. Any play could go the distance because he already separated enough from most CB1’s to get a little yak; miss, and he may go the distance. We’ve got a potent combo with Cooper & Lamb, alone, bring back Wilson as WR3 and…the electric WR5 as WR4, all on 3 year deals that coincide with Dak’s contract. If Gallup wants to stay for a cheap 1yr recovery deal or a team friendly 3-4yr deal, bring him back too, but under NO circumstances do you cut Amari Cooper; ESPECIALLY when he’s can’t call his own number. You don’t give away or release a top 10 WR1 because you save a few bucks. He’s our Cris Carter and he’s not a problem diva WR. It’s dumb to do that. Give him an extension to lower the yearly average, and show him he’s your Cris Carter. You have to draft a young speedster & you may as well have The Professor on deck to school them all. I’m not giving any other ORGANIZATION that in-house advantage. If he wants to play & can move the chains into his 30’s, let him, but you gave up a #1 to get him, your QB1 & Gallup really came to life, and Zeke was still pounding the rock as well as could be expected with that LG situation being ugly AF since 2017. There’s always a wiser option, but you have to find it in the ‘tween spaces…all options & combinations thereof.
