speedy group this year. Even the guys running 4.6/40 doesn’t mean slow. So much more than speed goes into being an elite wr.
Usually combine is indoors. This year is outside and you run faster times when outside.

@RebornKingz that’s one of my favorite points to bring up too lmao. i was having a heated discussion about David Bell looking completely different in game compared to at the combine(that goes for a lot of other guys this year too, Treylon Burks especially). most of these guys train for the combine, and a ton of that focus goes into the 40 because it’s so glorified. they train for straight line speed and some let their agility drop, which is why were seeing really low shuttle times. the 40 yard dash is without a doubt THE BEST way to improve your draft stock artificially(@john ross), and it’s pretty annoying

@Darius Kelley because sometimes these 40 times are not accurate but mostly it’s because the athlete trained exclusively on nothing but running 40s and nothing else. For instance they may run a 4.35 on combine day but on an average play they may only reach 4.85 speed. Of course you do have guys who can consistently reach that 4.35 speed and know how to use it

he’s quick, and hopefully he’ll get healthier to get back and better than ever as he gets access to more nutrition and tools to improve,
but especially with his HANDS he can get the ball almost no matter where it is

if he just had more playtime, ..but of course the acl he very well could have been a lot higher on the draft, but of course he’ll prove that on the field

These WRs are a different breed!!! Olave and Garrett Wilson were buttery smooth off the line. Those quick, long strides looked effortless
Maybe it’s just me but I feel David Bell just came out of his breaks bad, he seems faster than his time; but the speed in this WR class is outstanding, just hoping it translates well into the NFL

This is amazing to watch. I remember watching the combine only one guy would run a 4.2 out of the whole group. The GM’s / executives will have to go back and watch a lot of film to see if the times match their production. A lot of position groups will fall down the draft board because of these ridiculous wide receiver 40 times. Chris Olave just made himself some more money.
This has to be the fastest wide receiver group that we’ve seen in the combine, truly ridiculous.
Olave was most impressive ….so smooth , shined in the QB drills as well
