Let’s take a moment to think about how under hyped the defense is compared to the offense, especially considering it’s the most expensive one in the nfl.

1. We need our O line to get chemistry and step their level of play up. Considering our 2 guards are legit pro bowl players. We need our Ts to perform and Lloyd (rookie C) to become a leader early.
– if this happens Lock will ball out. He trusted his protection more and more and if these guys are the real deal. He will shine regardless, we have too many weapons not to if the O line produces….
2. My true main concern is that we dont have a TRUE #1 CB.
AJ is a #2
Bryce is a #3
In their natural roles they are legit
We have the best S combo in football but in this pass happy league we need a true #1 CB.
I dont think our rookie can fill that role. Hopefully I’m wrong
I was hoping we added 1 more corner like we did with Talib when he had solid 2+ years in the tank. Like a Patrick Peterson. Fresh start fresh defense and loads of talent around him to make a run at a title.
Other than that
I believe this team will win no less than 10 games if the O line protects Lock with success.
Miles, I think we can have confidence in our coaches. They know what we have in the cornerback room, and they did not think it vital that we draft a guy early. To get someone that would be ahead of the guys we already have on our roster, we would have had to move up and make that guy our first pick instead of Jerry Jeudy. But if we already have guys the coaches are confident can do the job and we did not have a route runner like Jeudy, we went for WR instead of CB. I’m happy about the way things came out. For one thing, when Bausby got his chance, I thought he showed he could do the job. Unfortunate that he was lost for the rest of the season. When Yadiom came back in after being benched, I thought he played a lot better. The main thing is, the guys are young and this was their first year in the Fangio defense. They will be better in their second year, maybe way better, because a lot of young players do make a jump from year one to year two. And the guys who had a few years in the league already, will be that much better! I’m pretty sure if the coaches had been worried, we would have taken a CB in free agency or drafted one right away. They didn’t see it as our biggest need, and so I don’t worry about it.

Having both an offense and defense benefit eachother, that being said denver has a even team that can easily make a huge run, maybe a super bowl next season, maybe not, but hopefully one soon

Broncos Country, can you do a segment on special teams soon? Seems like that phase of the game often gets overlooked, but I think the Broncos have made some important strides. We just have to do a better job in coverage, but maybe because the team has more depth, that will give us better cover and return teams. Anyway, would be good to hear more about that unit.
