Not having Sutton hurt him a lot as well as losing Albert and his starting RT and a rookie C starting. Why? It took a lot of the playbook out of the picture and he’s still shown growth over the course of a really weird season with no off-season program or preseason to get started on playing in a new system with a QB going into year 1 as a full time starter, coming off only having 5 games under his belt.
2021 is the real evaluation year for Lock as he may finally have an off-season to keep learning, growing and preparing as well as getting a lot of pieces back on both sides of the ball. That’s when we will truly see what he is for us.
– get new OC (kyle shanahan kinda guy)
– get insurance qb (sam darnold/mariota)
– draft CB / best available player first round
Sam darnold and Marcus Mariota have done terrible if you look at them play they are bad and a one year OC with a QB that is still developing would not change anything. Drew lock was hit with injuries on the offences and defence and he lost his best receiver and a good tight end and a lot of there o line.

I’m impatient? Dude it’s been nearly 3 seasons since drafting him and he’s not improving. Where do you draw the line? I’m sorry but other young QBs are doing well without an offseason (Herbert, Hurts, Burrow before injury). There is no excuse. The early years of Hamler, Jeudy, and Fant are being wasted bc of incompetent play from Lock, yet he gets a free pass because he’s “young”. Give me a break.
@Nicholas Funk Nearly 3 seasons? He was drafted last year and has played through a total of 16 games. You’re correct in saying that other young QBs are doing well with same or less experience in the nfl but those guys aren’t surrounded by the youngest offense in the league. The Broncos have tried the “quick fix” approach the last 5 years with 3 different head coaches, 3 different defensive coordinators, 5 different offensive coordinators and 5 different quarterbacks. I think it’s time they try continuity in lieu of turnover, see how that works out.
@colbycheese27 When I say 3 seasons, I mean he had 2019, 2020, and now entering 2021 it will be his third season in the league. Yes, continuity is key I agree, but the quarterbacks we’ve had are all unproven (Siemian, Lynch, Lock) and or mediocre at best (Flacco, Keenum). If we got a proven QB with talent (such as Stafford or Dak let’s just say), I think that solves a lot of problems. Look at Tampa and Indy, they went and got Brady and Rivers and have gone from missing the playoffs last year to being in the hunt this year all due to what you call a “quick fix”. I don’t want to hear about “youngest offense” or “elevation by surrounding talent” either, Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts have next to nothing in terms of receiving talents (besides Keenan Allen on LA) We are 16 games into the season, the time to adjust excuse is over. I get your point of view, but making excuse after excuse for Lock and blaming everything else besides him for mediocre play is just baffling.
Upgrade the the right tackle and put in Muta and cut Glasgow get back the secondary and Von, Casey back and the rookie our of wake forest and Sutton back and we will be good
trade for stafford. Let him mentor lock for a year or two. Let stafford take this team to the playoffs and get experience for our young offense

@teddy tsoromocos the broncos might get Stafford but drew has one more year to prove that he is the franchises QB and the broncos is offences is really young and next year will be better for the whole team and for drew lock because the injuries on the team won’t be as big as it is this year

Stafford will be expensive so you are not getting Miller and simmons back .
@karl morgan you’re right we are going to have to clear some cap. Most of its on defense anyways and Von only has one more year on his deal left. Kareem Jackson could be a potential trade

Juedy earned the criticism bro…if he hadn’t went on social media and thrown his coaches and QB under the bus saying he’s not getting targets, then gets 22 in 2 weeks and drops a quarter of them. If he would just shut up and do his job, the fan base would give him more leeway…much like we did with Sutton during his rookie campaign.

The reality is Lock is not the guy. We need to make a play for Staff or ARod
