@Jake Smith this is so absurd especially with no context , in 2020 he had 9 less passing tds which was 36 in 2019 he has 100 less rushing yards in 2020 still breaking the 1000 yard mark in 2020 he was still an elite qb still getting his team to 11 wins after getting 14 the previous now, in 2021 after litterlay the entire team was dismantled u expect him to put up the same amount of production as 2021 and 2020? plus he got injured for the last 6 games while HE STILL got them 8 wins

If it’s to be believed, they reportedly offered more than the Kyler deal. So honestly, it seems like he’s trying to go for a deal a rung above the current market like how Dak was a while ago. Going for a deal that’s so market setting, that it’d still be competitive when he has to extend again. It might not matter how long it drags on for in that case.

@brian stollings in 2020 he led the 32nd best passing offense in the league and couldn’t even reach THREE THOUSAND PASSING YARDS…. not to mention he was on pace to literally lead the league in INTs before he was even injured in 2021…

I can’t imagine the Ravens aren’t offering a good sum. The fact there has been no information on whats going on is a problem because it’s just like “what are you waiting for!?”
Lol at the idea the Ravens would have jumped at $35m/yr for 7 years fully guaranteed. Its the long-term COMMITMENT the Ravens are trying to avoid. They don’t want a guy essentially guaranteed a high paid roster spot for the next 4 years, let alone 7 years when they feel like at any time in that span, said player could regress or get injured. They want the ability to walk away if need be relatively soon, like most teams. From their perspective, if he were to lay an absolute egg for the next two years straight, they would have no choice but to roll with him for the next two. From their perspective, a fully guaranteed contract at that rate could cripple a franchise if it went south. From the player’s perspective, it gives them the security of knowing an off season doesn’t lose them their job suddenly.
Nothing. He hasn’t done anything with his career still. He had 1 year where ppl didnt know how to deal with him. Like 90% of running QBs. They all have thr same downfall. Vick, culpepper, RG3, McNabb, Tarkington, I can go on and on.

People beed to understand every dollar you pay someone means one less dollar you can’t pay someone else. Im sure ravens would pay lamar 75m a year if their wasn’t a salary cap but their is. So them making him the highest paid qb hurts the rest of the teams future plain and simple. Doesn’t mean he isn’t great. Just hard to win when you have one guy eating so much cap.
Let’s see if Lamar can do good again before their paying him A ton of money he didn’t do good last year (To all of y’all who say baker was trash year cause he didn’t play a lot) I think there is a lot better QBs than Lamar But he is better than someone like Watson
