It’s time to move on from Sam, sorry guys. He’s simply regressed. His decision making is subpar, his accuracy, even though it’s not bad, isn’t great, he isn’t good under pressure and has poor pocket presence. Sam is a great guy and a hard worker but he’s just not the guy anymore. Justin Fields fits the mold of the modern NFL QB, Mobile and a pretty good thrower.
His accuracy is horrendous

@ClutchJuggler He’s not consistent at all though, and when you have the opportunity to draft Justin Fields you can’t pass up on that chance.

@Evan Campos no, we got to have at least a season of him with a coach surrounding him with weapons, making good play calls, and actually helping him out instead of tearing him apart
The playcalling the past 2 seasons clearly did not help him progress but it’s beyond play calling. Sam’s problem is his decision making is poor and his accuracy is not great even when he’s not under pressure at times, and he can’t read the defense. Both Sam and the jets need fresh starts hopefully he can succeed someone else
We have to keep Darnold and Maye. We have to draft Sewell.

Marcus Maye will stay, I think so. Darnold will be traded to another team. It’s time to reboot at QB.

I understand if the Jets move on from Sam Darnold but he is a GOOD DUDE!!!! And he has ability! I don’t enjoy seeing Sam hurting like this it sucks! No matter what happens I will support him. Note he takes full responsibility…a Good DUDE!!!

I feel like we should keep him he is a leader and has the ability to make throws not many guys can. His mistakes were coachable his rookie year, which is why they brought gase in thinking he is a qb whisperer. But gase drained his confidence bowles let him air it out, yes their were mistakes but they were fixable. I think if they bring in a coach that can use him properly, let him sling roll him out and some designed qb runs he could be a legit star. You could put peyton manning in his shoes and he wouldnt do much better. Hopefully Jd realizes that and makes some big moves this offseason one of them not being drafting a qb not named trevor lawrence.
He can’t make the throws though, his deep ball accuracy is horrific…

After 3 years and you can’t read defenses consistently his accuracy on long balls isnt good his overall talent after 3 years shows you hebisnt that elite talent thats taking you to a superbowl

Sam as a person is just a Good guy says all the things you want to hear but on the field 3 years and his decision making accuracy on long balls contested and just inability to read defenses just is inexcusable no disrespect to sam intended but it just is what its been

Get the best coaching candidate out there, Strengthen the O-line, get some WRs, keep Maye and get some CBs, get a good edge rusher to help Q out. Give Darnold one more season with a better group around him and if people want him gone, the alternative to this is just draft a QB and sit the rookie for most of the year and if Darnold is as bad, he is gone and the rookie QB gets off the bench after watching for a bit.
