All I ask of my Rams is that we complete every game and that every player gives their all when they step out on that grass. Baker did both and got the W to go with it
The rams organization and players obviously embraced him unconditionally. And the defense played inspired every down. After being counted out all season the amount of respect and confidence baker garnered from the rams sets them apart as a franchise built to win with anyone. And in the second quarter everyone sold out to baker and he didn’t hesitate to give is best return. Mayfield is very accurate while squarely filling his gunslinger alter ego.

The big story is Mayfield. But kudos to the rams players and organization for embracing his ability to shine. Defense was inspired and although the rams put up 4 scores they pushed every down believing baker would lead them to victory if it was within reach. Wow!

This is the exact opposite of Russell Wilson. There are a shitload of variables, and just taking a QB who was good in a certain system, and moving them to another system doesn’t mean it’ll work. And sometimes, it does. This is a “Money Ball” moment for the NFL IMO.
I coached the O-Coordinated for a single San Diego Stallions semipro game in 2008 and we were 0-4 up to that point. And when I was given the book, and saw what I had to work with, I knew what I had to do. No huddle, gun-pro, Read Option. No play calling. Same play the entire first series. Score.
Then we mixed it up, told the opponent we were gonna do other stuff. When they signaled they knew us. Gun pro, read option. Score.
Rinse repeat. That was the crew we had, on that day.
