    @Joshua Telemaque I think that would be true for a new Washington expansion team. However, this isn’t gonna be a new team. It’s gonna be a new name for a team that already has a lot of history. I think Redwolves is a great rebranding of “Redskins” because it still honors native Americans.

    It would be a bit weird in my opinion to completely change the franchise from honoring natives to then honoring something else. Kind of counterintuitive. The Redskins will keep being the Redskins with the name “Redwolves” because of how wolves are depicted in Native American lore. There are even a lot of cool options. You can replace the human head on the logo with a wolf head, and you could even have the wolf mascot hold a bow and arrow. It will actually be unique to the NFL too, because so many franchises have either a bird mascot or a cat mascot. Not many dog or wolf mascots.

    @Joshua Telemaque the name Redskins is NOT a part of Washington history-that name originated in Boston when they were, first, called the Boston Braves. They became the Boston Redskins before they moved to Washington so there’s NOTHING about the name that is native to DC. History must first be learned before it can be respected.
