Heinicke was a roller coaster, but it’s impossible to not like the guy. I don’t think he’s a franchise QB, but he’s someone you keep around as a very serviceable backup. And if Washington does draft a rookie, I’d be okay with Heinicke starting while the younger gun learns.

I hope he starts, he’s got all of the qualities worth developing and his pass speed improved over the season. If this was DAL, Skip would be like “Well look how many 3rd and 4th stringers are out there, this is impossible”, yet everyone acts like he had first string support all season and consistent first team reps in the offseason – it’s just not fair.
