People who are saying Howell a QB1 need to relax a lil bit. It’s just the preseason, he hasn’t played against any starters at all
He’s also playing with a bunch of backups too. I wouldn’t give him the QB1 job yet but there’s definitely promise there.
He has a lot of potential I see him at QB1 if wentz messes up.

Ravens fan here. Howell is a great QB.. He will definitely do his part. The fact that he has the ability of running and throwing like our QB will keep you guys playing fast pace and contenders. Give him time to grow.. He can develop quick as a QB1 eventually
Still think Sam Howell could thrive the best with the first team unit. Yeah he playing with backups but with these critical drops, penalties and wrong routes ran its evidence he’s handicapped. I saw Sam nearly beat a fully loaded Clemson Defense. Take the Herbert/Russell/Dak leap of fate could pay off.
Howell can sit a year this is ideal for us. Mahomes sat for season let this guy develop he will be great just be cool with him learning for a year .
Howell needs to sit this year and learn. He has the potential to be the starter of the future. Wentz is not the answer and everyone in the organization knows that, that’s why we kept Heinicki and drafted Howell. Be patient, young grasshopper.
Looks like Rivera utilized this game to evaluate his 3rd and 2nd QBs since he already knows what to expect with Wentz. But don’t we all.. lol

Clearly if a team is paying a qb 20mil or whatever wentz is getting, that means he’s going to start. Howell def ain’t going to start this year unless some injuries happen but he is definitely one of the best incoming qb’s I’ve seen in a LONG time with the commanders. Let’s hope he can grow and develop even more.
