First and hire Someone from college

    Michael Hession

Hiring college coaches is a really risky move. Its the definition of boom or bust.

GREG ROMAT OUT PLIS

Setsotama

Preferably someone OUTSIDE the organization whose relatively young who can balance both passing and run game, give our WRs a time to shine and be a legit threat while keeping that bullying rushing attack.

Bobby Slowik perhaps?

viandolonga1

I hope our running game does not suffer with this.

    Y3

u don’t think the other coaches that have worked with roman for 4 years know how to call a run game? and this is gonna help our run game because we were so predictable

    viandolonga1

@Y3 We dont know that yet and who is to say the new OC will keep any of them? At that level its all predictable, it’s how you execute and scheme different things, and no one can say GRO did not have a complex/unique scheme for the run, it was the passing game that needed help.

    Y3

@viandolonga1 my boy do you watch film on the ravens? cuz i do. almost all of the ravens run tendencies was behind big 42. the one time we didn’t run behind him during the bengals it was for a 4 yard gain, but when watching the film you see how the linebackers instantly shift and move to where ricard is causing them to be a half step behind the play. yes greg roman can call a run game but it’s a very predictable run game. we not even gonna talk about his passing game cuz that is some dogshi. but it’s so many ways to run the football without a complex scheme. look at the eagles, niners, lions, packers, seahawks, raiders.

    viandolonga1

@Y3 Yes I do and I agree it was predictable at times but sometimes you still gotta execute. It isn’t all on him and I guess I do hope Ravens fans that wanted him fired are right and it’s that easy of a fix but I’ve been a fan for a long time and we never had a better offense than what he gave us. Let’s just wait and see

    Y3

@viandolonga1 but the only time his offense was prolific was in 2019. every year after that his offense got figured out and he couldn’t adapt. remember that miami game when they kept blitzing and greg couldn’t come up with a solution? it took a whole offseason for them to be able to gameplan for getting blitzed instead of being able to watch the film during the season to adapt. greg roman couldn’t make adjustments. obviously it’s not all on him cuz like you said players gotta go out there an execute but if you’re asking them execute things that aren’t gonna get you the optimal result don’t be surprised if you get the blame.

Stop Bull…… and be a Head Coach.

I’d like to see them go back to the “semi college” style they ran when Lamar Jackson first came. I especially liked the part where the Ravens had the game won and took Lamar Jackson out by the end of the third quarter.

    Pp

If you talking about 2019 it was the “one years wonder GRo schemes”, same style we ran in 2020,2021,2022 so…..no thank you! we don’t wanna see that style of play that literally dependent on Lamar breaking tackles at the LOS.

SW15H

Byron Leftwich would be a good pick for OC especially for our QBs and players would respect a Super Bowl ring and a former NFL player as well loved you Coach Roman but maaaan😅

    Pp

@viandolonga1 IF you don’t find GRo’s situational play calling BAD i don’t know what to say….QB sneak 3yds away from the end zone…, TE draw in 4th&1…, just to name a few!😑😑

    viandolonga1

@Pp Grass isnt always greener, yes some play calls were terrible but changing one OC isnt fixing everything because players also didnt execute properly as well. I’m hopeful things get better but it isnt guaranteed, we at least had the best run game in NFL history and just had to develop some type passing game with GRO. Now it’s re-doing everything

    Pp

@viandolonga1 where did that historic run game lead us??
Lamar IS the running game, take out his 1k yds per season and the running game is good nothing special.
And don’t say it’s because of Roman Lamar had 1k yds because most of Lamar’s big run are him breaking tackles at the line of scrimmage….!

idk why you defend GRo but go ask Brady what Happen when players don’t “execute”…OC get fired.

    viandolonga1

@Pp umm it got us multiple NFL rushing records and the number 1 seed in 2019. Im not defending him, im saying this isnt an easy fix like fans think, it’s way more complex, this is like “if we get that number 1 WR it fixes everything” kinda attitude. Sorry but it doesnt, building an entire solid team is the goal and playing to our strengths.

    Pp

@viandolonga1 I agree with you on one thing “1 stud WR not gonna fix things”…we build our Team on an outdated philosophy great Defense and dominant running game but there’s so many flaws in the way we did it
1.we spend a lot in the secondary and not in the DLine/pass rush….in a league where you can’t leave the QB time to throw
2.big slow OLine that can only run block
3.spend heavy on TE and not in WRs (doesn’t matter how good a TE is it’s not a WR)…. results we have no margin for error, we literally have to score at every possession since we take 9min off the clock, and God help us if our defense can’t stop the opponent ’cause we can’t score fast even if we want to.
A complete rebuild (with new HC) would’ve been better but…a new OC is better than nothing.

Musculus IV

Main thing is that the choice of the new OC convinces LJ to stay

will Jones

this should have been done mid season this year

ashton woods

We need a good half and half offense

king shark

There is no vision… stop it, there’s no Jim Caldwell out there. This a totally different situation. You gave the current hc a high paid big arm sb mvp qb, the money and roster drain flushed this team.

Now, that same hc wasted a rookie deal Jackson in a non developing military academy offense. N you about to give him a team smashing tag or contract.

We cooked. … should have cut sling with the whole thing, not just greg.

    Mahatma Sloth

Dang, sounds like you should find a new team to cry about

Pp

should’ve done this after 2020 or last year!! We stayed in GRo’s predictable schemes for too long!
Now we have to somehow convince Lamar that we gonna change our old dated philosophy that we have since the 90s. smh

If Lamar is smart he won’t resign in Bmore….Sadly!

Lamar The goat

Imo we need to incorporate more checks down and work the flats with the rbs. We also need to do more play action as well.

Eijon Carstarphen

STEVE B – nothing stays the same , everything changes , everything evolves….

Pay Lamar the money he’s asking for, us fans can’t watch Baltimore put up 12 ppg without Lamar
