    It’s a 7-step dropback, but it’s out of the shotgun formation so it’s even deeper than a normal 7-step. One of the many special wrinkles the Chiefs have been running.

    @John Pritzlaff Doug Flutie did it often. Russ & Kyler do it too. It’s how shorter QBs see the field. It just looks odd when a 6’3 guy does it taking long strides vs the short guys with the choppy steps. Nothing new

    i dont know what video that you are watching but if you really watch the video it is more than obvious that he didnt think he caught the ball. just watch his reaction when he gets up. does that look like the reaction of a player that knows that he just caught a touchdown pass to you? he slaps the ball in his hands as in a motion of angst. never once does he do his own touchdown signal or touchdown celebration. even when you see his face as he is running off of the field it is the face of ahhhhh i almost had it. he gives absolutely no indication by any of his reactions that he thought that he actually caught that ball. he probably thought that the ball bounced off of the ground and back into his hands. also if he really believed that he caught the ball you know that he would have been protesting to the ref and then he would have had andy reid contest the call

    @John Loye the best part was that even he didn’t know he caught it. If you were watching the game, you would have seen the replay from the side angle where it was shown that it never hit the ground

    What NFL team do ya play for? Maybe I’ll see all your touch and dexterity next Sunday… try reading my whole comment, it had nothing to do with the catch he made while he was on his back, it had to do with him losing sight of the ball BEHIND his head and having no idea what happened between that moment and the one where the ball magically reappeared when he was already on the ground himself. Ref said incomplete, WR knew he had no idea if the ball hit the ground when he lost track of it, so he assumed the ref saw what he couldn’t see.

    PS – WR is actually all about speed and power into and out of precise breaks, properly timed routes, anticipation on elevation, and yes strength and dexterity in your hands… from a WR btw.

    My understanding is that only plays which actually result in a score are automatically reviewed. Potential scoring plays (which are ruled unsuccessful on the field) can obviously be reviewed, but have to be challenged.
