Trey Lance Making Plays Through the Air and on the Ground | NFL Week 1 2022 Season – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
depressed_kings_fan

You already know hella people gonna call him a bust for one game. But there was really nothing when he was down 2 scores with the ball, No Kittle, No Mitchell, and the weather picking up. Hopefully homie bounces back next week or else the 9ers will probably get impatient.

    Basketball4life

@Samuel Sandate not everyone’s perfect. He’ll adjust quite well and he fits perfectly in the offense.

    Samuel Sandate

@Basketball4life Not everyone is gonna pan out and you know that

    King Chris 23

@Ninja ghost bro I’ve seen more haters than anything

    FreakinFred08

@Ninja ghost there’s also people who call Earth flat. Best to ignore those kind of people.

MusicProductionsVP - Composer

can’t blame him for the loss. SF dominated but beat themselves really. Not easy to have your first start as a full time started in this type of weather. He will improve tho, its just how many games will it cost the niners before the offense is fluid.

    Open Mike

Probably need more than 10 points to win.

    Frank

I think it’s good to have him start in this weather. He’s gotta drown in order to swim. A harder start like this will make it easier for him to adapt in regular conditions.

    Lucky Jackson 2020

    no playoffs this yr tho

    Charles Stewart

@Open Mike WRs can’t drop passes or fumble in the red zone OL needs to blk just a lil better he has to learn to throw short if we fix this small problem offense is top tier. Biggest issue is penalties we like 8 on defense 5 on offense

Miss Bomba Claudie TV

The kid needs more playing time. He shows glimpses of fantastic raw talent but he needs more playing time experience. He is gonna make lots of mistakes but that’s how he is gonna grow.

    quan Brooklyn kid

    Yea

    Gold Tau

Reminds me a lot of Tebow

    @mikelew415 what?

    💯

Walked away encouraged by Trey. Some of those throws he made and his 3rd and 13 run for a first was encouraging.

My biggest gripe is with Kyle and his lack of planning or options when run game isn’t working.

    GD 5

Well said. I would’ve liked to have seen less QB power though, and more of TDP when Mitchell went down. Overall, he has plenty to improve, but there were some really nice throws as well he can build on

    stephen heraldo

@GD 5 Totally agree with you, although TDP wasn’t even suited up for the game – Classic Kyle move by not dressing your 3rd round pick. Hopefully next week we see a good dose of Jordan Mason and TDP.

Trey showed what the potential of this offense could do and not have to rely just on hard fought YAC. His precision throws between levels to the outside and up the field have been non existent for this offense. It’s what will make the run game EVEN MORE dangerous. All the short game Jimmy G dink and dunks will come with more reps, but for now his strengths as a passer are getting it to the outside and up field. If Kyle can step out of his comfort zone and call a complete game (the first half was great) that’s best suited for the guys on the field we’ll be in good shape. The mistakes will happen but the idea is that the kid grows from them and not just repeat the same things and force the defense and run game to bail the team out.

    GD 5

@stephen heraldo Yep, I totally agree. This offense will no longer be limited to 15 yards past the line of scrimmage, we’ll actually see all quadrants of the field be attacked, and that will be fun to watch

    stephen heraldo

@GD 5 Sure up that interior and maybe try see if Jaylon Moore can unseat McGlinchy. Im ready for a youth movement and even open to a play caller that can unlock all parts of the field.

    GD 5

@stephen heraldo I can see Jaylen Moore as that guy on the right side, he’s a good player. Still a little concerned about LG, but Banks actually held up better than I thought when I went back to watch the tape. I still like Burford way more, just a much more explosive athlete with some nastiness to him, which is always nice to see out of your OL

Zach SF

Anyone else worried about Trey running the ball so much? It wouldn’t be as much of a problem if he slid or ran out of bounds, but he runs into contact most of the time

    paul fine line

Wilson look really slow, ran right into defenders and was 9 for 22 maybe we need a better back our offense needs to play off the run….

    FreewayBrent

As a 49er fan, I don’t think the kid lasts a full season if he doesn’t learn to slide and avoid contact.

    dank dank

No way he can do that for 16 more games without getting hurt. But hey they still got Jimmy G.

    Devin Smart

@Gabriel Cowan did you watch Allen this week? He was running into contact lowering his shoulder and stiff arming with his throwing arm

KeepsItG

Trey has the tools to be a talented QB. Weather said well you aren’t gonna be able to showcase it today. Same for Fields. Both QBs underperformed IMO to their best capability. Hopefully better weather for both fellas next week.

Mr A

Hopefully everyone will give him the same chance that was given to Josh Allen when he struggled, but look at him Now!

    Ramon Rivera

In order for that to happen Jimmy gotta go , Josh didn’t have a vet 3 years removed from a SB appearance on the roster, once Josh was named the starter there was no questions after games about maybe going back to vet , because there wasn’t one , whenever Trey does something wrong some people are gonna say put Jimmy back in , and imo thats unfair because it shortens the leash based off knee jerk reactions the Bills were patient with Allen

    mikelew415

Jimmy won’t be around next season 💯✅

    RMOB Nation

@mikelew415 You had to think the restructure was only to make trading him more easy on the cap hit for whomever needs him.

    Captain Roastabotch

Exactly, Josh Allen Struggled his first year, 2nd yr was better, 3rd yr he exploded. I see the same kind of play from Trey as Josh Allen his first yr.

sirsaint88

It often takes time for a QB to develop. Critics shouldn’t be speaking right now about Jimmy G. Before social media we used to remember that it took time for young QB’s to mature. That they’d often fail at first. Not saying Lance will take off and become great, but he deserves a chance and patience.

The Chefinator

Lance will be good, give the man some time to find a rythm

Meshach Jones

Flashes of greatness

michael

Watching these highlights without seeing the game is a reminder of how could he’s gonna be. The talent is there right in front of us

Cameron Stewart

4 minute highlight package from the player some media are suggesting played like a bust.

Ton of good throws and clutch conversions in this game.

sione leaaetoa

Other than that 4th qtr i saw some throws that i really really liked. Hoping with more time and seeing more defenses he will work out the kinks but no matter what u gotta just let him play. Super bowl or not you have to give him a full seasons chance.

    TheItalianMafia 1940s

That’s what half of the fans need to do and not bash the poor kid

Emmanuel Silvera

I’m with Trey, they gotta ride this season out with him win or lose. Don’t yank him too early for Jimmy, he’s gotta play the ENTIRE season!

MagicalBread

When you see all his completions and runs, he looks pretty decent.

It’s everything else that needs to improve. Awareness in the pocket, faster release on throws, etc.

    Bam Bam

When you said “awareness in the pocket” you lost it, you just say and watched this footage and still didn’t see the footage

    MagicalBread

@Bam Bam I only understand coherent messages.

Trey’s pocket presence in this game was god awful. Under pressure he’s too indecisive. That’s what I’m saying needs to improve.
When the o-line is sturdy, he plays much better, but still needs to improve accuracy and field vision.

Does that make more sense now?

Cali Fresh

Can’t wait for the home opener go niners !

IMnottaBOT!

the rain def won this one for the bears. No doubt in my mind Trey will get things better and going smoother week 2 and forward!

Brian C

Yes he missed a TD pass to backup TE and threw a bad INT at the end. Considering the sloppy weather it wasn’t all bad. Made some throws that Jimmy definitely couldn’t. The people calling for Jimmy to be starter haven’t watch Mr. Glass play the past 4-5 years. When he isn’t hurt he has zero mobility, can’t throw deep and when he does go out of the pocket he likes to just throw it to the opposing DB for some reason. How the 49ers have won despite him over the past several years is incredible.

Hasnain Momin

Texans fan here. He looks pretty decent. Given time, I think he can develop into a star like Josh Allen.

Devin Smart

You van just see in this game that trey is a high competitor, he fights for those first down and love to see it. its very dicaraging seeing how quick the O-line gives up on blocks then doesn’t go up field to block when plays break down, a lot of plays where their just standing around watching
