Now that the
Darqueze Dennard & Eli Apple contracts have NOT come into being I would much rather grab Apple on a 1yr deal than Amukamara… even though I like PA I think Apple is a dude who can become our LONG TERM solution at the #1 CB spot… right now our CB’s are:
#1 A.J. Bouye
#2 Callahan
#3 Duke Dawson
#4 Issac Yiadom
Instead 2020 we can have:
#1 A.J. Bouye
6- 0 191 28 [8th Season] 4.55 40
#2 Eli Apple [Woodard] 6- 1 203 24 [5th season] 4.40 40
#3 Callahan
5- 9 188 28 [6th Season] 4.49 40
#4 Duke Dawson
5- 10 198 24 [2nd Season] 4. 46 40
#5 Issac Yiadom 6- 1 190 24 [3rd Season] 4.52 40
THAT would be a definite upgrade!
The reasons I like Apple as an addition if we have the $$$ in FA:
1. I believe that his ONLY problem is lack of excellent coaching & getting into a consistent dietary & weight regime as well as developing excellent study habits in a good CB room… CHjr’s departure may seem like we lost some great leadership & wisdom in the CB room however I believe that K-Jack, Simmons, Callahan & our coaches offer a 100% excellent CB Post graduate masters study in Secondary… so I think Denver would be the BEST fit for him at this point in his career
2. PLEASE NOTE he has 4 years of experience last year playing all 16 games & he is ONLY 24 yrs old… this means that he can become our #1 LONG TERM and a solution at the CB position… taking a 1 year flyer on Apple at this point will almost guarantee the SAME production if Okudah would fall out of the TOP 5 [Prob NOT going to happen] and fall far enough that we could TRADE UP to get him… Apple 5th yr = Okudah 1st year easily
3. I don’t think Apple has reached his potential… he had IRON Deficiency issues & so his whole life until 19 & drafted he developed without ever being at full strength… if his diet regime & study are combined into a plan he will get on board with I TOTALLY see him reaching his TOP 10 draft pedigree in Denver
4. He will be playing under Bouye & ahead of Callahan… that is stiff competition & if he knows he can get a stable long term team & $$$ contract then that should serve as big motivation… unless he takes advantage of that opportunity he may spend 4- 5 years on 1-2 yr deals & then be out of football having had a middling career… IF he can be encouraged & he accepts the challenge on Fangio’s DEF he can instead be on a Pro Bowl HOF career arc… so coaching training diet & study habits with stiff competition & $$$ motivation can bring it all together for Apple.
He’s from NJ & I expect he is a tough kid that simply needs to have a plan in place to develop due to the hindrances & obstacles that put him on the path he is now travelling…
So IF we do test FA again I would rather we took a 1 year incentive laden flyer on Apple than invest in Amukamera
Coach will NOT like what he sees 1st glance at tackling but again has the dude ever been coached up WHILE successfully dealing with his IRON deficiency?!!?
He would automatically be the fastest longest & most athletic CB we have in time a TRUE #1 Lockdown Crnr who could play press man Vs opponents #1 WR
So with WEIGHT TRAINING; DIET; TECHNIQUE & STUDY HABITS we could have a 10 year player at a PRO BOWL Level as our #1 CB!
Set him UP TO SUCCEED- that is what our staff is getting paid for… & we may have a PRO BOWL HOF at a big $$$ discount at least for a couple of years… maybe even see positive results & then in 2021 offer a team friendly 4- 5 year contract- so we get a real bargain going forward & Apple can finally have a home & stability to develop his FULL potential!

When Von Miller eventually retires in 30 years, the Broncos should sign someone named Coors.

Players need to realize Denver is the BEST place to Live & BRONCOS are the BEST team to play for because of alot of reasons however the fact that BRONCOS are the HOME Team for like 5- 7 States & hence the corollary opportunities such as endorsement & other business ventures make Denver the source of what should be an NFL Player GOLDRUSH
