Why? The Patriots shouldn’t be able to get the ball back if it went out of the end zone, it would be dumb if they did.
I always thought that rule sucked long before today.
@Jayson Taylor Why is that dumb (other than its the current rule)? If they throw the ball and it goes out the back of the end zone its not Dolphin’s ball. If it’s fumbled and goes out of bounds but not in the end zone its not Dolphins ball. So why is it dumb other than that’s what the rule says?

@M Hollins maybe, but there were so many better WRs drafted after him. Harry was the 2nd WR taken (Brown was the only WR drafted before him) but the Pats could have had guys like Debo Samuel, Mecole Harmen, DK, Mclaurin, etc. Harry was projected behind most of those guys and so far in their careers all of them have looked better than Harry when I watch them play.
Its too early to say for sure, but DK looks like he is gonna be special and seeing him have so much success in seattle makes the Harry mistakes (like this fumble) feel so much worse.

I think it is made to balance out fumbles. every time it goes out of bounds on the sidelines, the fumbling team gets to keep the ball. if it goes out in the end zone, the other team gets the ball.
