I wish he was our coach in 2002, a great man who deserves so much more than he got

TrueEmpire89

One of the greatest coaches of all time in my opinion

John Thomas

Congratulations to my favorite Coach of all time!

It’s about time Dungy got recognized for this. This guy shouldn’t have gone anywhere besides the Bucs. Gruden was gifted a great team constructed by this man’s work 👏 Not to take anything away from Gruden but this was the first coach that brought greatness to Tampa. Wish he got that ring instead.

    Tony G

Truth is we needed both. Scoring 6 points a game wont win you many games. Gruden inherited that great defense that Dungy built and created an above average offense, able to score more than the defense allowed.

    Andrew Johnson

Gruden should send the ring to Dungy since he is no longer in the Bucs Krewe of Honor.

@Tony G No doubt.. Just hated to see Dungy go and then the next year Gruden got it. That’s why I said I’m not taking anything away from Gruden. But if you look further in the future for the Raiders he couldn’t do it like he did with Dungys help. Really takes a great defensive coaching mind with a great offensive coaching mind. But usually doesn’t last long cause another team always takes the one that’s not the head coach and splits the 2.

Dungy’s a stud. Deserving of it all.

Brian Gaugh

For those that did not get an opportunity to watch the Bucs during the Dungy era, all I have to say is it was very memorable.

Joel El Rican

Well deserved. Dungy is a man of honor and integrity. He still lives in Tampa and hasn’t stopped giving back to our great city. He is a great ambassador for Tampa Bay.

It really was such a great time to be a Bucs fan back when Dungy built the team into a contender, and a huge part of that was the pride that came with knowing that our team was led by a truly great man of integrity and faith, that truly cared about people and about the Tampa Bay community.

Andrew Johnson

Congratulations Coach Dungy. It’s well deserved and a true man of God.

This was one of the best moves by the Glazer family. Dungy brought a new spirit to Tampa throwing off the losing history of the franchise which was just starting out from the Culverhouse disaster years. While Sam Wyche started drafting the backbone of the defense while he was coach, Dungy brought it along so much further. While the offense was always a thorn in his side and led to his eventually firing, he will always be remembered for bringing a winning atmosphere to the Tampa Bay NFL fan base.
