All the WRs were picked and I didn’t want us to reach like the Commanders were forced too. I am happy we just went with the best guy on their board.

I was hoping they’d pick an offensive lineman. I thought it was their biggest need after the free agents. We want to have a good chance to go deep in the playoffs. Just to compete in our division is a challenge in itself. Go Bolts.

@Angels fan yes, we did pick one up, which was was what I was hoping for. Personally I’d like a big full back who can compliment AE with one of our later picks.
This is an important pick for improving the offensive production, and overall. The right side was the weak point last year, particularly for run blocking. So this fills a big gap in the way the offense functions.
Wanted a RT with the fact that a lot of teams especially in division of have 2 elite edge rushers but interior helps the run game. Still need to improve RT. Can’t be satisfied with what we have they can’t block Crosby
When you had to run Senio Kelemete and Michael Schofield out at RG, you had to see this coming. Still hope they resign Aboushi if he’s healthy

Be interesting to see if they try out Jaimes at LG with Fieler at RT at some point in camp just to see what the best fit. Would fit in with Telesco comment of Zion as a RG

@coleworld24 yeah hopefully they don’t overthink it. Jaimes played well in his limited snaps last year so if Oday doesn’t come back the best lineup is easily Fieler at RT and give Zion that dual vet presence that Slater got with Fieler in his rookie year

I owe Tom Telesco an apology. This was a great pick, and it wasn’t a easy pick to make. Slater was easy; Herbert was inevitable; Murray was unfortunate. This one was good, and great under the circumstances.
I’ll be damned if my Chargers aren’t starting to know what they’re doing. Now please fix RT.
@SD Fishin dude. You can’t pick Sewell when the Lions drafted him six slots ago. And literally no team ever would pick Love over Herbert. Those weren’t great picks, they were obvious picks.
“Good rosters” my a$$. Like Popper said – the Chargers didn’t pick OLine in the first round for eight straight years. And it showed. Now, maybe that wasn’t Telesco’s fault. But if so, maybe doing it right is Staley now, not Tom.
I’m willing to give Telesco credit now. But quit whining about justified criticism.
Edit: aside but related – you seem to be assuming Slater’s a better pick than Sewell, which remains to be seen. Slater was great value. Sewell’s likely to polish up nicer.

Getting an elite weapon for Herbert is so elusive. Last year Chase, Pitts, Waddle, Smith gone. This year Wilson, Olave, Jameson and Dotson already gone by pick 17
