Byron doesn’t seem to understand that play calling has an affect on execution. Instead of keep calling the same plays that the players cannot execute hoping they will get it, why not call plays that the players can execute more consistently? There is a lack of creativity in helping players get open. Pick plays, misdirections, 5 wide, etc. If you compare play callers like Reid, McVay, Shanahan, McDaniels, etc. they are able to get people open regardless of the personnel. Look at Cooper Cupp. Everyone knows he is getting the ball and they find ways to scheme him open.

    kevin walsh

@Ken Chan3 I just got home from the gym 💪 the manger is from Chicago, she went to Patriots game last night, I’m happy for her and Justin Fields, he’s had dead eyes for 2 seasons, they finally figured out how to use him, he’s too good a runner to force him to be a statue, pocket passer, if you have time, check out Pats win in AFC championship game over KC, Edelman killing them up the seam, like Gronk used to do…any Patriots receiver who had the guts to run quick slants thrived, I’m really sitting here thinking about Cooper Kupp, everyone in the stadium knows he’s about to catch a pass, yet he somehow gets open, Mike Evans has been physically abused for years, it’s finally showing, to be honest with you, I love Tom Brady but without an O line protecting him, he might as well be Baker Mayfield, just average

    Ken Chan3

@kevin walsh Brady knows how to work with a bad line, but you have to scheme route concepts that can get players open quickly and that takes some creativity. He’s run all types of offenses throughout his career from a heavy run based, 2 TE heavy, spread, etc.

I live in NE and am a Patriots fan, but I also am a Brady fan. NE did not look good last night. BB needs to decide on a QB and stick with him, IMO. His defenses seems to have issues with the mobile QBs like Fields and Jackson because they seem to focus too much on containment which affects the pressure.

    kevin walsh

@Ken Chan3 I recall Graham & Watson, but what broke my heart was losing out on enjoying Hernandez & Gronk…I remember one cut Aaron made, I said to myself, he’s going to break an ankle, on a different topic, SNF had those dinosaurs from the unbeaten Dolphins team, as if those dudes could play against the 18-0 Patriots, it’s laughable. I’ll go to my grave saying watch the tape, Tyree catch, Jarvis Green AND Richard Seymour both being held/mugged, yet officials too scared to throw a flag. 😢

    Terry Paulson

@Ken Chan3 Absolutely agree with this comment. You mention Cupp a one man machine that has a full designed system to get him free. And then you have Kelce with
the same designed system to send other receivers in every direction to create the space for him. Tampa routes are simple/slow and look like stand-around routes.

    Terry Paulson

@kevin walsh yes thinking the same way. Screen play for Tampa where is that play?? it’s always used just a safety valve with Dino. Reverse Sweeps?? scissor routes??
stacked receivers?? Just for help Byron go study GB for screen plays since they have run this to perfection as far back as Brett Farve.

Humberto Nuñez

We scored 31 on a loss to KC, we don’t want to see points on the board, WE WANT TO SEE WINS!!!

    TMI

Yeah these low scoring games are pathetic.

    Helicopter 🚁 Helicopter

Lol kc has a HORRIBLE defense

    Anthony

That KC defense is awful. No one ever brags about putting points on Patrick Mahomes’ defense. You worry about keeping up with him. But putting 31 points on Josh Allen’s defense is something that almost never happens. Which is what makes Mahomes so much more valuable to KC than Josh (as good as he is) is to BUF.

    Humberto Nuñez

@Helicopter 🚁 Helicopter the point is that it doesn’t matter how many points is scored by the offense if they can’t close out games with a win then what good is it, can you understand that? Or is that over your head too

    Chris Kotwicki

A win is a win is a win . Chiefs game was Defenses fault they gave up a touchdown on every drive. Yeah they spotted em 7 in the first minute they also blew them out last time they played and it’s because Mahomes couldn’t do anything against the blitz

inn news

Bring back Bruce Arians to oversee the offense. At least he risks it for biscuits. Tampa Bay needs to step up now.

    Daniel Edmond

HE NEEDA TO BE OUR OC FACTS

Dean Giusti

Can’t wait for the press conferences after the Ravens loss.

    Phoenix King

It will be the same as it’s been the past few weeks. “need better coaching, better execution, and we’ve got to make plays”.

    Stocky Guru

    @Phoenix King 😂😂

    Mydixiewrekt

Listening to Leftwich makes me dumber EVERY SINGLE TIME

    Jayson Terry

@Phoenix King don’t forget the, we just didn’t score enough points,

AJ Eonrej

No other good coach takes this long to turn things around unless their inept.

    Jim V

    Pats are 3-4 too lol.

    AJ Eonrej

@Jim V the pats lack talent, and have a 1st and 2nd year QB, so they are a few years away from consistency

LovelyLace

The Bucs really need a win. It isn’t too late to turn it around. Losing is tough and can shake your confidence but just like you can lose you can win again. You guys need to be confident again and play like a Superbowl team. They need to realize you can be replaced at anytime so play your hardest. You guys can do it!

TheOmengod

The play calling is sucks!

Let me give you an example: when it’s 3rd and 1 and your conversion rate is only 3 out 50 tries and you’ve been calling a run every time, you might want to try a different play. Play calling is about rhythm and timing and personnel. If we’re going to fail I want to see the ball in Tom Brady’s hands.

*57:45** Let’s just take a minute to appreciate how much time and work she put into these videos?*
*It’s unbelievable, and I think they deserve a lot more than that*

Bad Bad Bowling 101

Leftwich is acting like he doesn’t understand the game at all. The left guard is being beat on every play weather pass or run. The LG is getting run plays blown up and allowing Brady to be under pressure on every play. If Leftwich can’t see it then he has to go.

    Bad Bad Bowling 101

@jbceedeez if we see the same offense Thursday then he needs to go.

mike denney

It’s clear that the press and the fans take losing way harder than the millionaire players.

    JOHN 3:16

    @mike denney
Maybe if they weren’t overpaid they would try harder. That’s what makes college exciting because they are earning a chance to be paid

mike denney

By Leftwich’s explanation he believes that the individual skills of a running back doesn’t have anything to do with whether a play is successful.

Tampa Reel Legendz

I want to hear Bradys opinion on What he thinks about the play calling and Leftwich and Bowles capabilities to run this team.

    Jamal Blakk

Tom seems to give a lot of non answers so that the press doesn’t run with some controversial sounding statement. If he says anything direct the press will be writing “Tom throws ___ under the bus!”

Malcolm Hathorne

The only way they’re going to beat Baltimore is by playing solid offense for four quarters. This will allow the defense to rest and be more effective. If they put all of the onus on the defense it will be a recipe for disaster. Just like last week. We need lots of sustained drives and touchdowns! That’s how you will beat Baltimore.

Phoenix King

Summary of Byron Leftwich press conference:

I have no idea what I’m doing. I have no new schemes or ideas. I’m gonna use the same playbook as last week and then wonder why our offense continues to fail against the Ravens on Thursday.

Brian Baker

The ravens are going put our team in the ground….

Alexander B

After listening to his podcast: let’s go. You’re so quickly reminded of why he is who he is. His leadership, encouragement, brutal honesty, accountability. I know he may be going through a lot off the field, and there’s certainly a lot to overcome; at the moment on the field. But we got to believe in this team, and we most certainly believe in you Tommy. Thank you for motivating and inspiring so many of us over the last 23 years! Raymond James stadium I think we need to bring back the old “Brady Brady” chant’s; and show our support to this man and our entire team. The season is in front of us! Let’s go Bucs!!!

    Anthony

Respectfully disagree. No one talks a better game than Tom does. He’s got the voice and charisma to make you believe almost anything, but he just cares about anyone and anything that will help him win. I totally respect that, but it hasn’t nothing to do with his semantics with the media. Sorry.

    Alexander B

@Anthony I respectfully disagree. As a lifelong New Englander, this is how Tommy has always been. From the very first Super Bowl, to the latest. Selfless, caring & encouraging. You will not find a single teammate even players that have been on other teams that have come and joined and played with him; that will say a single negative, or fake thing about him. 💯

J-Ferrell

Bryon has made it CLEAR that the play calling isn’t the issue 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ this is why we need a new offensive play caller ! And fast !!!!

Joshua J.

The game is always won up front. Both the O & D lines are being outplayed by the opposing teams. Simple as that. The Bucs D line isn’t the same as it was a few years ago, and the O line is banged up due to injuries.

Terry Paulson

Great conversations today regarding Tampa’s simplistic play book design. Everyone was with the same observation and Chan layed it out dead on. If you watched
KC annihilate SF (yes SF defensive Injuries hurt) it still was one scary borage of plays hitting SF.
