The 2000s were loaded with star safeties between Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu, Brian Dawkins, Bob Sanders, Sean Taylor, Adrian Wilson, Darren. Sharpe, John Lynch just to name a few. And Bob Sanders stood above all of them in 2007 when he won Defensive Player of the Year
I take nothing from Ed, and troy or the other safeties but Bob was all of them in one, he couldn’t stay healthy or else he would have been the best safety ever….. Dude was a real animal!!!! And that’s respect to Ed and Troy, but Bob was just different
i believe his superbowl win was the best performence by a defensive player ever. He was lights out that game i will never forget that day. top5 defensive player ever… if only he stayed healthy.

One of the players that made me a colt fan till this day. Knowing that I wasn’t neither born or raised in countries that actual watch this game. For the shoe, in Ballard I trust! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Unfortunate with all of the injuries he sustained over his career, but man when he was healthy, he’d always give 120% effort on every play he was in. Loved watching him hit and tackle.
My favorite player growing up. The way he played was insane to watch. Every time he hit someone, you questioned if either player had just had their career ended.

It’s an absolute travesty that this man is not in the Colts ring of honor. Without Bob, the Colts don’t win the Super Bowl… Period. Too bad he dealt with so many injuries that ultimately cut his career short, which one could argue was on a Hall of fame trajectory.
