You’re absolutely right and almost the whole video includes Redskins, our helmets, the word and people saying it. If the word was so bad, why wasn’t it edited out. It wasn’t. It’s not a bad word.

@Joe A in case you haven’t noticed yet, every article/mention of Washington for the last few years has excluded the name Redskins. It shows up in this 2 minute video because they’re tributing the history of the team. It being used continuously isn’t even in the same stratosphere as showing Redskin archival footage & memorabilia in a 2 minute video – made for a ceremony with former players in attendance – meant to pass the torch to the new identity.

Please tell me you don’t need someone to explain that to you.

@Patriot Clips people said the same about WFT. Your statement would have some credibility if there weren’t countless examples of fans turning from outraged, to indifferent, to partial to change over time. People just love misery.

@Z Dubs nah I wasn’t outraged with WFT… indifferent to start and it grew on me enough that I was happy to stay WFT and rock the numbered helmets. Given we had to drop the name. I stood by them and the uniform schemes were still true to our past. It felt like our team still. We were always Washington even as Redskins.

This is outrage now. This ain’t it. This is ain’t our team or paying any kind of homage to our history. This is insulting. It’s a completing different franchise established two days ago. It’s XFL arena league garbage.

Not getting on board. my team no longer exists. I remember the 92 SuperBowl and I stayed a diehard through every win and loss growing up since wishing for our return to the glory days for our generation to see but I will never see that now. This team could go 17-0 and win a Lombardi and I won’t care. It’s not our team. Not our uniforms. I honestly just hope they free guys like Terry to real organizations now so I can root for them still and see them have the careers they deserve.

This is the biggest out of place joke organization in the league now. It was once one of the oldest and most storied franchises in the league. Not anymore.

@Z Dubs You’re right people love misery. Our country is based on that now. WFT and Commanders are 2 entirely different situations. WFT happened overnight and we adjusted over a few weeks. Commanders took two years and they had updates every month. Multiple surveys went out from news outlets, poll mocks and from the team directly month after month. Commanders finished last or next to last on all surveys. It was the most unpopular name or the 2nd most unpopular choice. 2 years of work and they purposely picked the most unpopular name intentionally. My credibility? What are you talking about….we’re venting about our ball club. It’s a clown show…if you love it then carry on. In my opinion they just lost a chunk of fans, and I do think Snyder might be closer to being ousted then previous years but we’ll see.

@dr rock should have been The Washington Warpath. It was there in the heart of the fight song. Braves on The Warpath. Would have paid homage to the roots without being any type of racial slur to any group of people and could have just still branded with some type of W and the numbers on on the helmets.

Or the RedHawks as in Red Mohawks. Not a bird like Seahawks… Could have stuck with the R logo and Red feather….

The whole thing a travesty based in very little rational and standards that don’t seem to apply to any other team. If the Chiefs and Cowboys and Bucs, Raiders, Vikings can keep their names and represent their archetypes we should have been able to keep some tradition to honor the Native American history of the team. I don’t agree with the argument against Redskins but I can understand it especially in these times. So fair. We dropped the name to please people. But we should have been able to keep some type of tribute to The Native Americans and we should not have changed the basic design or color schemes of uniforms. The team looks like an XFL arena league team now. It’s garbage.
