They’re not paying a third string RB $2M. Clyde is a better receiver, Darryl is a better pass protector, and Damien isn’t some dynamo in special teams. They could find other guys at a lesser price.
Only they have had to do just that for the last two years with Bell last year and McCoy the year before. This move makes little logical sense unless they really need every cent of the cap. But are now sitting at $30 mil in the black without yet restructuring Mathieu.

Damien Williams is simply better . He beat out Darrel and Clyde’s longest run was 40 yards he’s a plodder !
How great a RB he is/was doesn’t matter when you decide to say, Nah, I’m good y’all, have fun out there. He’s such a great RB huh? Well guess what? The WORST back in the league last year had BETTER stats than Damien did……think about that!

Man this is heartbreaking. He will always be a Chief’s legend in my book. His run down the sideline in the Super Bowl will be etched in my memory just like Otis Taylor’s. Best of luck Damien in all you do, you’ll always hold a special place in this fans heart.

Thanks you damien. I am gonna miss him. After hunt got cut, he stepped up when the chiefs needed him espically in the playoffs. His final run to put the 49ers away will be seared into my brain forever.
