​@B Weinmann Swap WR cores and let’s see what happens when Herbert is throwing to Chase, Higgins and Boyd while Burrow is throwing to jabronis like Carter and Bandy. Too many people have been hypocritically against Herbert because of W/L and refuse to fairly weigh all the factors like Burrow routinely getting murdered whenever his OL is as depleted as it’s been for half of Herbert’s career (Burrow has a big problem holding onto the ball too long) and he’s never had as pedestrian of a WR group as Herbert had this year. Yet Herbert’s the one with the most passing yards through the first 2 and 3 seasons of any NFL career.

@Temo context matters. 2 key factors, Burrow missed the entire preseason (and pretty much all of camp) from surgery and had a brand new oline that took weeks to gel. Second, it’s a lot different to make mistakes very early in the season vs week 14. I’ve watched every minute of the last 6 games and Burrow hasn’t made a single wtf throw in the hundreds of snaps he got.

@Brian Hum who is holding on the ball too long? Have you actually watched them play? I don’t think there’s any one who gets the ball out faster than Burrow, they’ve had 6 sacks in the last 6 games, what are you watching? You know Jamar was out for 6 weeks? No Mixon for any of that either. And are we seriously going to act like Williams and Allen aren’t one of the better duos in the NFL? If you’re going to make lousy excuses at least mention Lombardi’s play calling problems. And I’m glad you cherry picked one stat even though stats tell such a small part of the story. Football IQ is the most important characteristic of a quarterback and I would take Burrow in that category ANY DAY over Herbert, any day.

@21wislondustin, Man, you said it. I’ve been a Charger fan since 1993 and I’ve seen my share of losses and lead changes. But it was nice to see the Chargers pull this one out. But it was pretty dicey at the end.

Him and Keenan Allen together, and Austin Ekeler. When Herb has those 3, he generally puts up 24+ points. And he would’ve this time if it hadn’t been for all the turnovers and constant pressure

That’s why for 3 yrs I’ve been boiling when I hear people talk about Tua has as good of weapons as Herbert. I’m a Bama fan and I remember Keenan Allen was a 5⭐athlete committed to Bama, but flipped bc he wanted Saban to also bring over his QB brother as well. There was only one school that would do that, Cal. That’s why 6’2″ Keenan Allen ended up at Cal w/ his brother as his QB. I watched 6’4″ Mike Williams dominate Bama in 2015 & 2016 NCs. We escaped in 2015. This year, Tua has speed like no other w/ two 5’10” burners. But the savviness of Allen to consistently get open and the ability to Moss people like Mike Williams means you can mostly just throw it up without the receiver being open and the guys will make plays.

That was the difference in the Chargers/Dolphins game last week. Tua threw two perfect balls that w/h been TDs, but his open receivers couldnt even find the ball. Yet, Herbert throws passes w/ DBs hanging on the rec and they either Moss or somehow catch it. Chargers only won by 6. I think those two passes would have made a difference.

@patrickadonislewis it’s not that people think herbert has no weapons, it’s that his weapons are slooooooooow (and his offensive scheme sucks), when people say “imagine if herbert had tua’s weapons” they’re mostly talking about giving herbert a legit speed threat down the field. The degree of difficulty that herbert has to play through with his receivers is also high as they wouldn’t have moss the defender if they just got more open which they really struggle with cuz of how slow they are. Herbert’s throws have to be tight window almost every single time unless he’s hitting a checkdown just cuz most dbs are faster than his receiving corp and blanket his receivers the entire route.
