@Ty Heinicke and Lamar Jackson both took the identical number of sacks in 2021 NFL season, being 38. Heinicke ran like a 4.6, but his bread and butter is being very talented at Houdini sidestep/backstep/step up/fakeout/juke escapes leading into a pass rather then Lamar’s tendency to run it. The stats speak for themselves, though. Heinicke had a terrible O-line last season for a lot of games, also, due to covid/injuries. Not sure how Lamar’s was.

This is most likely peak Taylor. He’ll miss throws but create on the run and hit some clutch throws

​@TW Overthrowing has nothing to do with the actual strength of the muscles, it’s basically just body mechanics. Saying “arm strength” is just a convenience for actually meaning that, imo. I just want to clarify, because I think it’s being misinterpreted and misused a lot. He generally overthrows, not underthrows. He had a 49.5 yards in the air ball to Terry this season, that’s plenty. Terry almost has 1000 yards already. He needs to improve a lot on arm/body mechanics, he will skip a step sometimes (hip/footwork, mostly). Just look at Doug Flutie, he had a rocket arm and he was even smaller than Heinicke. I really think it’s a combination of that and navigating all of the crazy defensive schemes teams have been throwing at him/being constantly pressured to where it’s hard to have perfect body mechanics everytime as well as making the proper throws/reads. He’s also not had first team reps, which is important for creating comfortability and more importantly consistency. His ability to make passes from crazy postures is something that really stands out. Not everybody has to throw perfectly in general, but he’s admitted several times that’s something he’s developing. Heinicke is a deep breath and a little more patience away from being incredible, imo.
