In regards to whether or not McCarthy should call plays, IMO I don’t think he has a say so. JJ wanted KM to be his OC before he hired McCarthy. So KM will call plays until JJ makes the change. If this is a make or break season for McCarthy why would you put your fate in someone elses hands.

Doesn’t it usually take a year or more to come back totally from an ACL injury? Gallop seems to be a pipe dream for the next few weeks. He will be competent but I hope Boys are not thinking he’s the speedy WR they’re missing.

    Not any more, this is 2022 not 1992. Medical science has come a long way and guys are recovering from ACLs very fast now.

    @UncleAL Agreed but I think it’s about quality. I’ve heard “he’s now 1 year removed from his ACL and now you’re seeing the real player’ statements quite a few times last few years. Maybe 1 exception was Adrian Peterson, who recovered and was as good immediately. I just think MG doesn’t come back and right away goes long a lot.

    @Big Red TLC Again man, there’s a ton of guys who get a torn MCL, ACL etc and recover well within a year. The ACL injury isn’t what it used to be. The one that really sucks and can still take really long is the achilles injury. I think Gallup will be fine IF he’s cutting and pushing off full speed. Everybody is different as well. so we will see.

Tolbert is looking more and more like a BUST. You cannot have your 3rd round pick be sitting, especially in this thin WR corps. Dennis Houston, a UDFA, is active…that tells you everything you need to know. Seems like Joseph and Tolbert were missed picks.
