Steve Wilks gives injury updates

I know. Its clearly a trolling question. I’d revoke that reporters credentials if I had a say.

As a fan I want us to have the worst record possible, but these players want to play, they aren’t just gonna give up, wilks is gonna do his best to try and win the hc job next year, but I hope we wind up losing the rest of our games.

I would have thought that having Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold on the same team would convince us that high draft picks don’t just = success. You build success through establishing a winning culture, having good developmental systems in place, good leadership and a professional, hardworking, in-it-to-win-it environment (in both team and office). Trying to tank for a QB to solve everything that is wrong with the franchise is like believing that those “stop leak” infomercials will fix your entire plumbing system. Sometimes, you really do just gotta get right to the heart of the problem and realize that we gotta rework the entire attitude and atmosphere of the team if we want to be a winning team. Keep pounding needs to actually mean something to us again, across all phases (not just on the field but off the field and in management, leadership, coaching and ownership too).

All tanking does is show that the franchise is not strong and never will be. If you are *ever* willing to give up, then you won’t ever succeed because at some point we’ll meet another hurdle, and then give up then too. It’s about a mindset for the entire franchise, that’s what needs to be established imo.

@rrr rrr I agree but it doesn’t seem like the players have got much fight left in them. These young players aren’t stepping up and doing their jobs they are undisciplined and not coming together as a team. I don’t know how they fix it but having a franchise QB is a start because we have 3 Backup QBs on our roster.

@Brad Holt We definitely need a better QB for sure. But, I do think even if we draft a superstar if they’re coming to this organisation as it is now, they won’t have much success. Maybe here and there, but we won’t suddenly be super bowl contenders. QB gets the most attention but we have SO many weaknesses that I think building the foundations is the most important thing right now, and that’s something we can still establish this season; cut the dead weight, figure out who to keep and who is going (both in players and staff), etc. And I think the only way we truly find out who that is is by still doing our best to compete. If we purposefully tank, then in my opinion anyone who was involved in purposefully tanking should go, because they clearly don’t have the right attitude and drive we want to have in our team.

@rrr rrr I agree I hope the next Head coach can get rid of this bad culture that we see right now . I Just want to see us rise to the top of the division like we have done before and stay there. I have never seen this team in such a bad way as I have this year. It’s hard to watch sometimes . I don’t know if Wilkes is the one that can right the ship but I am willing to give him the chance. We will have to wait and see.
