Did Stukes have a say on drafting Montrell Washington?
No, I heard the WR coach Zach Azzanni wanted him.
He liked him after coach Z told him to watch him. Stukes likes Washington
Yes he did have a say in it. Coach Z brought him into coach Stukes attention and after his research on him Coach Stukes wanted Washington specifically for his special teams.
And as far as the other comment about him making the team…. With the way the special teams have been for the Broncos the past several years, you better believe they will spend a spot on the roster for a returner if they fill he is the guy.

This dude is my favorite of the new coordinator hires. He is square business, and we need it the way our STs have been playing. We’ve been so bad it’s hard to even make fun of the Packers STs.

Montrell Washington, look at it this way. All the coaches (and Russ too) all love Kendall Hinton (also mentioned in this video as a returner). This guy loves Tyree Cleveland. Then there’s Sutton, Patrick, Jeudy, Hamler. I don’t think Washington is even a lock for the 53 man roster, no matter how much the press corps thinks he is.
Six WRs (including returner) is typical. If they kept more than that there would have to be a painful cut somewhere else, maybe OL.
