Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons, WR

Average Points: 1.3

Week 11 Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Atlanta Falcons veteran Roddy White is currently in the midst of the worst season of his professional career. With just 15 receptions for 149 yards in six appearances, the star wideout hasn’t come close to meeting expectations.

To be fair, White has been plagued by injury in 2013.

Still, that’s hardly encouraging news for fantasy owners who will need White to average more than 9.9 yards per reception moving forward.

While there is plenty of success to be had against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ underachieving secondary in Week 11, White is unlikely to share in that success with Darrelle Revis set to blanket him on Sunday.

Consequently, White appears best suited for the bench this weekend.

Week 11 Opponent: Atlanta Falcons

Tampa Bay’s Vincent Jackson has been virtually nonexistent over the past two weeks, posting a combined three fantasy points over that time. Fortunately for owners counting on the Bucs’ big weapon, Sunday’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons will present Jackson with an opportunity to explode.

Atlanta ranks 25th in the NFL in fewest passing yards allowed and has surrendered 19 touchdowns in nine games. Only Dallas, Buffalo and Minnesota have given up more in 2013.

Also keep in mind that Jackson had his best fantasy performance of the season the last time he faced off against the Falcons in Week 7, catching 10 balls for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

Ray Rice, Baltimore Ravens, RB

Average Points: 5.7

Week 11 Opponent: Chicago Bears

Ray Rice has been every bit as disappointing as White this season, but doesn’t have a laundry list of injuries to pin his struggles on.

Which slumping star will have the most success in Week 11?

Which slumping star will have the most success in Week 11?

  • Roddy White

  • Vincent Jackson

  • Ray Rice

In Week 11, Rice and the Baltimore Ravens will be in Chicago to take on the Bears. And while the Bears’ defense isn’t nearly as stout as it once was, Baltimore’s inability to win up front at the point of attack and Rice’s lack of explosion signal another bad matchup for No. 27.

After all, there’s very little evidence to suggest that Rice is ready to break out.

He’s averaging a pitiful 2.5 yards per carry this season and has found the end zone just three times total. Throw in the fact that he averaged just 4.5 fantasy points in the Ravens’ last two road games and it’s not difficult to see why Rice isn’t worth a starting slot on Sunday.
