this is as ugly of an outcome as we could have imagined. The score line, the injuries piling up… I’m going to keep faith that this is still a good football team. Let’s see how we respond next week.

I don’t understand how people can have any happiness after this and say “we’ll get a win next week!” This was embarrassing on all levels. Herbert was in until 3 seconds left while down 28 points… almost every pass was thrown 5 or less yards. Just embarrassing.

@Baron Von Bielski dude don’t even tell me the Chiefs were the better team in the week 2 game. The Chargers defense owned that offense and got screwed over 2/3 times on interception calls. Don’t even give me that. I’ll gladly admit when we deserve to lose a game or are not the better team. This isn’t one of those times.
I was at this game and am riding back to San Diego now…. A couple of thoughts…. 1) Coach Staley is in over his head. Coach Peterson was playing chess and Coach Staley was playing connect 4 or checkers. 2) the chargers regardless of injuries were NOT ready to play (they were flat) and Jacksonville was the hungrier football team. 3) it was coaching malpractice to keep 10 in the game when it was 38-10.
Season isn’t over but right now it appears Coach Staley is in over his head.
@Mike Geee just to add 4) this was the Most chargers fans I’ve seen in SoFi and the most it will probably be for a while and we weren’t even competitive.
How was lombardis play calling? From the tv it seems he’s calling the game backwards. He wants to run the ball on our side of midfield and throw it in the redzone when it should be opposite. Good teams run the ball in the redzone
@William Walton I was at the game too. Kept getting cooked on the same exact slant routes and especially the same screen passes. They really need to fire Joe L with a QB like Herbert they keep doing these wack tosses to the safety valves instead of throwing deep

I like Staley but he has put on the field last year and so far this year one of the 3 worst defenses in the NFL. He was supposed to be a defensive coach.

Last year without Herbert this is a 4-6 win team at best.

I’ve been a bolts fan for quite a while. This is so typical, lol. We’ll blow another “should win” game. We will also go on a hot streak. It always comes down to the last 3-4 weeks for us if we make the playoffs. It will be like this until the coaching and/or play calling gets right. We need to just follow through with winning.
Absolutely spot on comment. Stu and Jordan might as well be bots. You don’t go toe to toe with the Chiefs and then come home to lay a stinker to the lowly Jags. The Jags SUCK. They are not a good team. The Chargers play down to competition all the time. This was a very TYPICAL Chargers loss. Real ones know. This felt familiar. And there shouldn’t be any excuse making, injuries happen, but this team should not have lost. Chargers chargered again. Only positive is the Raiders are 0-3 lol

Herbert’s injury isn’t going to heal this year and even with everyone healthy except Herbert this team with this coaching staff is a 3-5 win team. Look at last year. Without Herbert this team would have been 5-12 not 9-8.
@Scott Zundel he litterally played good to have a injury we all know ribs take months to fully heal I had same injury as a wr and easily finished season it’s uncomfortable but it won’t get any worse with everyone back healthy and Herbert rib I still think we’d be fine lost as he not getting blasted which he doesn’t when we’re fully healthy on line a fully health chargers team and 75% Herbert is still better than Denver Oakland and honest I think he’d still beat kc too we’ll be fine just gotta get healthy we have 6 all pros hurt you really can’t complain that much we pretty much were what we were last year without our stars Mack and derwin are the only stars that played and Herbert everyone else is hurt so I mean it’s only so much that’s gonna happen jags we’re healthy we weren’t and they piled up even more but losing bosa hurt the run defense and killed the pass rush
I still believe in this team but damn this loss was embarrassing. Defense couldn’t stop anything, injuries keep on hurting us, and offense couldn’t get anything going. I just hope everyone is at 100% soon. Bolt up ⚡️

Bosa will be fine. Groin injuries are not that bad. Who you should worry about is Slater because he suffered a bicep injury. Bicep injuries are almost always a season-ending injury! If it’s a strain, he’ll be out at least 10 weeks. If it’s a tear, he’ll be out for the season and we’ll be stuck with Storm fkn Norton unless TT trades or signs a LT.

What I really noticed in this game is the Jags were more physical and played faster which is why our defense was getting their asses kicked. I understand that Bosa went down but there are 10 other defensive starters that couldn’t even slightly disrupt Trevor and their offense. Part of the reason why they couldn’t get to him is because their offense had excellent rhythm!! It’s something the Chargers are very deficient in with the offensive play calling. JAX’s play calling allowed Lawrence to get the ball out quickly and had a good balance running attack that was very rhythmic.

I think some of them get it but going out there and getting EMBARRASSED like that is just unacceptable. Shake something up. Get it together. Injuries suck and they happen but we have to come together as a TEAM.

As a Jags fan, I was blown away that Herbert was in there at the end. He is was too good and important to that franchise to have him in just to try and save face a little. If Jax would have hit Herbert one time and did serious damage, Staley would have lost his job. Staley just kept contradicting himself.
