@WD4ED After two years its hard to thoroughly evaluate a coach. Considering last season we lost Matt Stafford when we had a winning record. She fired him mid season when her mother probably would have let the season ride out. Just be thankful she did it ffs man. This fan base is trash.

There was only one question that really made since and that was about the leadership structure with Rod as far as what his role will be and will he have the same responsibilities? In my opinion, same leadership means expect the same results. Its clear football minds are not part of the Lions leadership.

@Nick Farrar she gave them a win now mandate at the end. Even after the injuries and the loss of stafford I was willing to give them another year. They didn’t show up these past 2 weeks and that was the difference for her. It’s not rocket science

@Arou Johnson What the hell does Stafford’s race have to do with anything? I like Stafford for several reasons that have nothing to do with the color of his skin:

1. He’s a tough S.O.B. and will gut it out to finish games, even when hurt badly. There aren’t many QBs as tough as he is. The last QB I could say was as tough as him would have been Brett Favre.

2. The dude has a howitzer for a right arm. The guy can sit on his knees and throw the ball through the field goal posts from mid-field. That kind of arm strength is rare.

3. In the 4th quarter of close games, it’s like a switch flips in his brain and he starts playing like an M.V.P. Dude is clutch. This is evidenced by him having more 4th quarter/OT game winning drives since 2009 (when he entered the league) than any other QB except Drew Brees. How anyone can say he’s not clutch, especially considering how bad the Lions have been for the vast majority of his career, is beyond me.

Now, is he perfect? Of course not. He’s definitely not the best QB to ever take the field, or even in the discussion. But I would bet you serious money that, if you put him on almost any other good team, like the Steelers, Ravens, Packers, etc. from the beginning of his career, he’d already have a Super Bowl ring or two. If Trent Dilfer can win a Super Bowl, then so could Stafford on the right team. People seriously underestimate how bad the Lions are. Stafford elevated them from pure crap to around a .500 team. If you need proof, look at last year when the Lions lost him for the season. They lost every single game the rest of the way.

I said the same thing when they fired him. The guy had a winning record in three of four seasons, and just barely missed .500 by one game in the season he didn’t. They made the playoffs two of those years. Now, yeah, we can whine that that’s mediocre or whatever, but considering how trash the Lions were before Caldwell took over, it wasn’t like they were going to become Super Bowl contenders overnight. Plus, they had a pretty bad offensive coordinator. I think, if they’d found a better OC to pair with Caldwell, they eventually would have gotten better. As it stands though, these last three years have been wasted. Thank you Fords for wasting the prime of Stafford’s career, just like you wasted Barry and Megatron’s. Great freaking job!
