I like how everyone has an opinion on what the defense should do…but aren’t any type of coach…we lost season openers 8 years in a row…this is somewhat an improvement from last year. Great season ahead of us

A tie
Well, look at it this way. For the last 8 years we were at the bottom of the afc south or close to it after week 1. Now, we are tied for first place and have a very good chance to stand alone after next week. (Texans play the Broncos. Titans play the Bills)
I think the 1st half was just a new offense and new pieces on defense trying to figure out how to play together in rhythm. 2nd half was much better. (Except for Blankenship. He needs to go.) I think we will be fine. Just need to clean up the mistakes and play much better next week.
We were embarrassed against the projected worst team in the league. Starting off this way year after year is not okay.
@Matt Davis you call a 20-20 tie being embarrassed? I’d say being embarrassed would have been getting blownout. Now, we did stink it up in the first 3 quarters, but looked really good for the last one and would have won if we had a better kicker. But it wasn’t the Texans dominating us, it was us shooting ourselves in the foot with mistakes. Hence why as soon as the offense found rhythm they couldn’t stop us and the defense put the clamps down.
I don’t disagree that the coaches and players have alot of work to do to get ready for the Jags, but we are still in 1st place. If we can figure out the kicking issue, we will be fine.
Good for you paye,but you know what,our defense still is in question,we out played Houston in yards on offense,our defense again didn’t fair very well.you’ve got washed up and young players in our secondary,no in-betweens,really no pass rushers, except for paye, which wasn’t that impressive,we keep talking about this offense of ours, better start breaking down this defense,we spent so much time during the off season getting this offense in gear, even signing a older maybe washed up QB, we did nothing for the defense except bring one guy in from the raiders whom I can’t even pronounce his last name, he’s not any better than the one we let go, and brought in Gilmore, coming off an injury, he’s old and washed up, I mean what are the colts thinking? We will see how many teams come back against us and win games again this year I guess

Oh by the way,the colts can easily start of 0-1-4 .by lookn at their schedule,if they played like they did today,if that happens,I think it’s time to write frank Reich off after this year,no question about it.send Ballard with him.i know it’s early,but I’m not sure about Ryan,I was hoping we would of gotten Russell Wilson, super boul exsperiance,young, athletic, maybe another dumb QB move by the colts,hats off to Ryan,he’s a great QB ,well respected,but I think his time is up,colts had their chance to get Wilson,was it a money thing? Who knows,we all know Irsay isn’t a big spender, maybe that’s why his team is the way they are,I know one thing, we’ll see more about this team and Ryan the next few games,if they are failures,I think the colts can punch their tickets sitting at home again this year during the playoffs and frank Reich and others can find their asses right on out the door.
