@T. Dobbs What I’m saying is it really doesn’t matter if they made contributions or not. If you want rookies to get better you put them in the game and suffer the consequences because the future payoff is worth it for you and for them.

@Eric. DaMAJ Sorry but you have no clue what you are talking about. Preseason games are not for training or allowing them to learn and get better, training camp is over. You put the rookies in to play so you can evaluate if they make the roster. Them making contributions is the key here, in doing so they have a better chance for the roster. Basically , you make key plays, you are ready for the regular season. If not, as rookie, you have the whole season to learn and get better.

@Michael Songin right I get that and it so true. But when things are not going great he seems to always talk about situational awareness. Red flag for me. Aka conservative old school play not to lose. I hope Dorsey is a strong enough to battle that. Coach says run run pass. Like I see your not a troll but how many coaches that were GREAT OC & DC end up getting fired after 2 years and come back like Patricia from new England McDermott in combination with Beane complement each other greatly and if anything discipline is McDermott’s most stressed point he wants humble disciplined not having to hire these players are doing the right thing in off season. The players WANT to win for the guy he has created a loose enough culture where it’s very successful but yet not resented by players. The pegulas built signage of Mcd’s one line quotes all over the building for a reason because he wants everyone to know he WANTS TO WIN not just have a job it’s not a popularity contest he picks his coaches those coaches have developed many players who otherwise might have not even got a chance on other teams that are at top tier levels… Just look at diggs before Buffalo and after before no PB no AP no captain since coming all 3 he’s a retested leader who’s earned the respect of the LEAGUE not just the team… Did Rex Ryan do anything with anyone no… Marv Levy was the same way as mcd ear your spot every year you have to nothing is guaranteed bloated egos get popped fast

@THEREALJOSHALLEN one other team start to mimic your strategic movements from your team and they start poaching your coaching staff then you know you’re doing something right when you can take your scouting team who could recognize somebody that might have been a nobody and turn them into a star Gabriel Davis I mean tear on Johnson got hit right in the face with a ball in the combine and he is if not one of or the best nickel cornerbacks in the league so whatever McDermott’s doing he’s doing it very well because I don’t even remember during the bills 4 years Super bowl run that they were the favorites to win the Super bowl or favorites to get there any of the years even though they did get there so I don’t know about the Rams game it might be tough due to the fact that tredavius white is a question mark but I don’t see many people out competing our offense and I think sauce Gardner for purposes of bragging rights might just want to go one-on-one man to man no double coverage against so he can be taught what getting schooled in the NFL feels like for his first quote touchdown scored against him
