@Eleanor Steinmetz So, just based on an accusation, he’s guilty? Nice. I hope by your logic you’re never accused of doing something nefarious or illegal. It’s called due process under the law. I have NO idea if he is guilty or innocent, but I have an issue with people just going by accusations and determining innocence or guilt. Remember the Duke Lacrosse team and what those guys went through only to have them exonerated after the woman admitted it was made up? They were crucified in the media and publicly. You are okay with that? AGAiN, let’s just see what pans out and if he’s gone, he’s gone.
This has been a huge distraction for the whole organization, I hope the bills make the right decision according to the truth and that couch and the men on this team win that Super Bowl, go bills

Why didn’t Beane address this with him? It’s a tough situation. An unfortunate end to a rather amazing offseason.
@Enrico Pallazzo I agree. I realize it’s the reporters’ job to ask these questions, but after the SECOND or so time he said he’s not commenting further, for them to continue to badger him was a joke. Too much TMZ reporting going on in sports these days. I appreciate the gravity of this situation, but they did just play their last pre season game also.
Its possible McDermott and Beane are not in unison. Sean may want to release him, but Beane wants a little more time.

@Enrico Pallazzo Also, no player was robbed of the ability to be judged on their football skills in the last Preseason game. When McDermott says “We’ve got a lot of work ahead”, he’s talking about with Ariza AND who to keep and cut. The players that played were evaluated Friday night, and none of it had to do wit Ariza.
They just have to go through with the Process with the legal suit to work itself out but no doubt it will impact the team I hope they can step f Focused on playing football and taking the situation properly at the same time
it’s going to take a long time to work out, and this kind of distraction can ruin any team. Araiza should be released immediately. That solves the problem as far as the Buffalo Bills are concerned and the Buffalo Bills are my only concern.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen McDermott look more stressed out or angry looking before. He just doesn’t look like himself at all. Definitely lack of sleep written all over his face. All good coach we got this! Go Bills!!

Come on man! You can see the dude is extremely bothered by all this, he’s trying to get an entire 53+ man team ready for a 17+ game season on top of getting hit over the head with this awful story!! How much time do you really think the head coach spends on a punter?!? These media people just can’t resist poking and prodding and trying to aggravate, kudos to Sean for not launching off the podium and sprewelling some of these reporters, damn!!
Jay skurski would’ve been the first one to get knocked out! I certainly wouldn’t have been able to refrain, he’s a real POS for the way he addressed coach.

i really hope our coach and the team can see that THEY didnt do anything wrong….. put someone in charge of this situation until the facts are out and focus on the team. When said facts are out i am confident that our Bills will make the 100% perfect decision, until then…. we need to get this poor damn coach some sleep
Coach was in a tough spot during this interview. Clearly the team wasn’t emotionally ready to play tonight and it’s understandable .
I thought he handled the interview very well. Jumped right in, dismissing the game as unimportant- that’s where some coach’s would’ve messed up.

It must be frustrating to stand up there for an almost ten minute interview, make a statement about not commenting further on a very volatile situation, and for the next nine minutes have a group of reporters ask you questions non stop about the very thing you said you wouldn’t comment further on. Sometimes I wonder what they’re thinking, like in their minds are they saying “I know he didn’t answer the seven other reporter’s questions about it, but maybe he’ll answer MINE”. Stupid and juvenile at this point.
@D Yates But what else can you do? Asking questions about the game would come across as extremely callous and would just end up being even worse.

Hopefully law enforcement does a thorough investigation on this matter and if there is reasonable cause to believe he did this he should be arrested and have a trial. On the other hand if this is turns out to be a false report she should likewise be arrested and have a right to a trial. Unless I’m missing something the timing of this accusation is a little suspect and the fact that there is a civil suit so soon in the process also smells a bit. At least from the outside looking in on this.
Read the lawyers statement. Law enforcement did do an investigation. And they didn’t arrest Araiza or do anything, even though supposedly according to the lawyer “he admitted to it, over a setup phonecall by law enforcemnt”… Yet they didn’t charge him. No, instead she tried attacking Araiza over an STD comment instead. I don’t know if he’s innocent or guilty… But the lawyers statement is extremely hypocritical. If he is guilty then I feel really bad for the victum, And not just because of what happened, but because her lawyer is really bad. I mean just read her statement, and then actually think about what her statement is saying. It doesn’t add up.
I feel bad for McDermott here. He knew all day and all game he was going to walk into this postgame buzz saw..
He looks like a father talking about a kid who’s done something terrible, and he’s trying to figure out what to do to keep his family together.
I think we went nearly 2 games without punting last year. Why have this huge cloud over the organization for such a small part of it?
Cause it’s like any other work place. When your hear something about a person you’ve come to know and work with everyday do you instantly just discard them or do you try and find out more before you make your decision?
I give Coach McDermott a lot of credit for the way he handled the situation.

Agreed. Both Coach McDermott in this situation and Coach Bill Bellicheck when dealing with the Aaron Hernandez situation (which was much worse).
Coach addressed this like an Adult; an open, and honest adult. Bills Fans are lucky to have him.

McDermott is such a stand up man, nobody can put this on Sean or this organization. These media members are like hyenas, pathetic!
