Rice was injured in Monday’s 14-9 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Rice was third on the team with 15 catches for 231 yards and was tied for the team lead with three touchdown receptions.
It’s not the first time Rice has been hampered by a knee problem. In August, Rice traveled to Switzerland where he underwent platelet-rich plasma treatment.
Without Rice, who went down in the first half against the Rams, the Seahawks struggled to move the ball. They finished with a season-low 135 total yards.
Rice, in the final year of his contract, has played just 81 of 112 games since entering the NFL in 2007. He has 243 receptions for 3,592 yards and 30 TDs in his career.
However, the loss of Rice could be softened by expected return of wide receiver Percy Harvin, who has not played this season after undergoing hip surgery. Harvin returned to practice last week.
Seattle (7-1), which has the NFC’s best record, hosts the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-7) on Sunday.
