Darnold spoke to the media about the confidence he has in the offensive line going into Sunday’s game against the Steelers.

The offensive line has been better not only from last season, but from earlier too.
This Panthers OL is a Top 6-8 Unit in the NFL – When you have a Good OL, You have a chance in every Game
More than half of the line this year were new players. For whatever reason Rhule ran out multiple line combos in the preseason. O-line needs some games to gel and establish chemistry. I assumed there would be some rough outings in the first 5 to 6 games as they meshed. Now they have come together and we have a coach that lets them do what they are paid for, steam roll D’s for the backs. And its such a beautiful thing.
I hope the failures of last year and him sitting most of this year this season has given him a New outlook on the QB position. Having Baker play the first part of the season and playing horrible, has given Ben McAdoo a chance to iron out the Kinks and figure out what works and what doesn’t. I hope Sam understands he doesn’t have to “try” and do it all himself. But I also hope Ben has realized we have an entire offense full of capable playmakers and not run a “one man show”.
Baker did not play “horrible.” His supporting cast played horrible, including the play calling. How many times did Baker have d lineman in his face with no time to throw the ball compared to Darnold? How was the run support for Baker compared to Darnold? How was the pass blocking compared to Darnold? How many dropped passes compared with Darnold? How was the play calling? Sure, Baker missed some throws, but that doesn’t make him horrible by any means. They never got him in a rhythm. Darnold is not doing any better than Mayfield. Imagine if the was supporting cast has been as bad as for Darnold as it was with Mayfield, Darnold would have been released.
@Ruth Mackey i just wanna know how many passes from Sam have been knocked down by D-line? Honest question
@Spartan Ghost How can anyone who watches Panthers game truly believe Baker played well?
Mistake free football is the key fellas.
Sam Darnold.
His rookie season at USC. 9-1. USC without Sam that year. 1-2.
Jets career. 13-25 record. Jets without Sam during those 3 years. 0-15.
Carolina this season without Sam. 3-8. Sam Darnold at QB this year. 2-0.
I wanted all of the fans to see these stats.
For the first time ever, he has a line that can protect him! I’m so excited to watch this season unfold. If DJ, Foreman and our o-line stay healthy, I think there is a 0 percent chance we lose this division race!!! Keep Pounding!!!!
yeah, and also one of the worst things of darnold’s career has been the extremely poor WR play he has gotten, especially while with the jests. even the panthers WR haven’t been QB friendly, so they REALLY need to step up in these coming weeks and help out darnold
Darnold’s OL in his rookie season wasn’t bad, and he had some quality games for a young rookie QB. The next 3 years with the Jets/Carolina, not only did the OL stink, the coaching was terrible as well. Having terrible coaching, no running game and getting your behind kicked in much of the time when you drop back to pass can ruin any QB. Let’s hope Darnold keeps getting better and builds his confidence back up!
2018 (the first year sam was gone) USC went 5-7 as well!
@Jiordone nah yo, in 2018 the jests hole-line was ranked 25th. 2019, 28th. 2020, 29th. 2021, carolina 31st ranked
now shockingly, going into week 15, the panthers o-line has made a HUGE jump, being ranked 11th. about TIME darnold has a real o-line!
Sam really hasn’t had a offensive line his whole career. Add awful coaching with the jets , I think really messed up his growth as a nfl qb. Right now is the time for him to really grow and build confidence. Praying Sam balls out
Great Wall of Carolina is here!
12:22 OMG HIS OFFICE REFERENCE 😂😂
best thing about darnold is how he answers every question the same
Sam has a chance to change the narrative of his story now. With offensive line and running game he has a legit chance to become a franchise qb.
Franchise QB is a bit strong. But definitely rooting for him
@Chappy Garner he has the arm and can make the throws. All he is lacking is the mental
I think he has Alex Smith type potential. He’s a game manager type, which you can win with the right team.
I’m not SUPERstitious, just a little STITIOUS 😂😂😂
Sam looks like Greg Olsen baby brother., Keep pounding bro we are rooting for you.
Let’s go Sam Bam!!!
I really don’t know who we should start PJ or Sam. Sam seems to like to protect the ball more and doesn’t mind checking it down. PJ takes more chances down field to get big plays. Imma just say sam for now since hes protecting the ball and we don’t really need to have an amazing passing game with this run game we have.
I hope the best for him but he has -2 charisma
I’m pulling for you Sam!
This is your chance Sam!!!!! P.S don’t shave the beard!!!
SAAAAAAAAM THEEEEE SAVIORRRRRR DARNOLDDDDDD!!!!!
KEEEEEEEEP POUNDINGGG!!! KEEEEEEEEP WINNING!!!
Love Sam #keeppounding
CAN YOU PLEASE TELL SAM TO STOP SAYING UMMM… UM.. UMMMM LORD HAVE MERCY
