1981 was my fan rookie year for the Dolphins. Regarding those long time fans mentioned here, it’s hard to believe that we all have been Dolphins fans longer than Dan Marino! Yes those early days… The strange WoodStrock years (Marino’s QB predecessors, David Woodley and Don Strock often playing in the same game by design). The ’82 (’81 season) playoff game against San Diego that saw Tony Nathan’s high speed hook and ladder ladderoll (still one of the most exciting design option plays I”ve ever seen in football). Then there was the ex-con Snow plower in New England who almost certainly cost us a game ’82 when he (illegally) cleared a section of field for New England’s kicker to kick a field goal. John (Fat Rat) Riggins running through a stunned defense to seal the ’82 season Superbowl for Washington… At long last our team of today is set to create some really good memories! GO FINS!
