Roy Mbaeteka’s First NFL Game | Roy Mbaeteka: Journey to the NFL (Ep. 2)

A three-part docuseries, "Roy Mbaeteka: Journey to the NFL" follows the 6-foot-9, 320-pound offensive tackle as he takes his next steps 5,000 miles from his Nigerian home, where he was discovered by Giants legend Osi Umenyiora. The second installment begins with the first day of pads at training camp, an annual rite of passage for NFL players. But it took on even greater significance for Mbaeteka, who strapped up for the first time in his life. We mic’d up Mbaeteka along the way, including his first experience against a live opponent in a game. "Roy Mbaeteka: Journey to the NFL" will conclude later this summer with Episode 3, which focuses on his adjustment to a new life.

There has not been this much promise hope and positivity on this organization in a long time. It is finally time to turn things around. Fans just have to be patient and manage their expectations and the greatness will come

This is awesome Osi Uymenjiora who knows a little about offensive line play … found and recruited Roy from West Africa has been busting with pride over how well the big guy is seamlessly fitting into our country our culture and the game he has never played..NFL football…

Sky is the limit for the big man …the Oline coaches are very excited about him already….

It is nice to see a real rookie perspective to the game of football when the player has not been around the game since Pop Warner up to college competition. Really comes down to personal effort, athleticism and mental readiness. Keep working young man. Same with Sandro

Okini Reid

Any man that makes Evan Neal look regular NEEDS to be a Giant. All seriousness, he can do it. Rooting for you

Self Relience

So happy for Roy!

He’ll probably get put on the practice squad but next year I can see him getting on the 53 man roster

OMG, the freaking power Teka has is top notch. When he swiped that rushers arms/hands down from his body, and basically unintentionally threw him to the ground, displays Teka’s ability to over power others perfectly. Dunno, that was the first pancake I had ever seen, resulting from the linemen just brushing a guys hands off him. So Teka obviously looks to have a freaking sky scraper high ceiling, as to raw power. Give him a year or two, so he can work himself into top physical form, as you can see he has good amount of room to build muscle weight to replace the other. Considering he hasn’t been a pro until a couple months ago, that obviously hadn’t had a life time of working out and preparing his body for the NFL, like most. Kinda makes it scary to the thought of what a perfectly fit and massive Mbaeteka could do, or who he could move. The NYGs hit the lottery on this guy, if he can prove that he has the ability to learn fast enough to not be left behind. He could be a huge, a freaking huge, missing link in the future to the NYGs O line.

6:37 No matter if you play in HS, College or NFL when you hear “your in” thats the most nervous but excited feeling ever, I even got the feeling of when I heard those words. Best of luck I hope he does great vs the Jets and hopefully stays on practice squad and later makes the team

Ramza

Let’s go Roy! Looking good out there!

Brett deVesty

Smiling the whole time, let’s get it ROY!

KnightofCups

I love the enthusiasm this man has, coming from nowhere. He is a perfect example of a person who doesn’t take this opportunity for granted.
Osi did good.

Phillip Belga
