I call him a rookie because he’s a second year player who didn’t get to practice for half his rookie year and didn’t get pretty much any offseason to help fix things in a completely new offense. So as far as I’m concerned he’s been given as much time as a rookie.

You do realize Lock was a first round prospect right? Many believed he was going number 10 to the Broncos. It was a surprise when he fell. Similar with Mahomes but backwards. Yes he was seen as a first round prospect but many believed he could go in the second.

Want to know the difference between Lock and Mahomes situations? Mahomes had the best QB coach in the league, an already established culture and super team, and an entire year stress free to learn to be the next guy from an experienced QB.
Lock got a lackluster receiving core and bad O-line his first year and rookie coaching staff after sitting out half the year with injury. His second year he got no preseason or training camp and an incredibly young supporting cast. Oh yah and a new OC.

Also it’ll take more than 8 games to diagnose if he’s good or not like every other project QB. Sorry to break it to you but unless you want the Broncos to get the first pick then they ain’t getting a plug and play QB.

@Zach Manukin i don’t think the broncos could get any of those Jaguars and Jets would have worse record i think Trey Lance is the option the broncos have

@Rhinopocalypes Oh yeah I knew he was hyped up like crazy to go in the first round, I do know he dropped as the draft got closer, a lot of teams were concerned about his inaccuracy. I know. we’re not getting the first pick, but on the same token, I just feel like if Lock shows nothing between now and January, what’s the harm in signing another QB? guys like Cam and Stafford are way better than Keenum and Flacco were. Cam is absolutely having a down year, he’s got no receivers whatsoever. I said Winston because he even though he throws a lot of picks, he still throws a lot of touchdowns too, so I feel like the good would come with the bad haha. Anyway, I hope you know I’m not trying to argue with you or anyone, I just am sick of bad QB play that’s all.

I get not wanting to see bad QB play anymore, I feel the same. I just don’t think moving on every time things don’t go perfect will make that happen quicker. Obviously if Lock does nothing this season things will be different but that’s a big assumption.

I get Lock has been hyped too much but hey, the hype has to come from somewhere. Also inaccuracy can be helped. He has the physical tools to be great.

I don’t think Cam will ever be the same sadly, Stafford would be great though. Thats if he leaves though. I’d love to have him but home grown is still better.
Winstons bads though are reeeeeally bad.

@Nicholas Funk you said cam. That’s where you lost me. He is not a good QB, unless you build a whole offense around his running ability which isn’t sustainable as you can see by examining the pats.

And he is better option how?
