Ray Lewis’ Rallying Speech After Ravens’ 2011 AFC Championship Loss | Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens got punched in the gut in the 2011 AFC Championship. Afterward, Ray Lewis rallied his teammates to come back stronger the next year. The following year, Baltimore celebrated in that same locker room.

Love you RAY LEWIS

Sadiq Osman

2012 run was legendary

    LeMan804

Beat Luck at home, Manning and Brady on the road and Kaepernick

    Charles Jackson

. We Had to Beat Cancer ….Pagano had just beat it , Beat Manning … Who we never won against… Great game too… Bailey couldnt stop Smith or Jones… Beat up on Brady like we do… And then lil bro had to get beat on in the Harbowl… This Super Bowl was a Ravens Super Bowl no matter what ! Ray Lewis wasnt having it any other way !!! Joe Flacco had the best postseason of any QB off all time … 11 TDs 0 Ints !!! “No weapon formed against us shell prosper !”

    Michael Hession

@Jordan Davis I agree, people say that the 2011 loss was the worst in Ravens history but I disagree. To this day, I can’t believe we lost to Tennessee.

    Agent311

@Kweef Sweat if cundiff didn’t miss they probably would’ve never gotten tucker the following season

    Vodou Myers

@Michael Hession But we beat them the very next year. This season was the worst in Ravens history.

tballgame43

Ray Lewis for D Cordinator Ravens 2022!! Bring in Ed & Haloti as Secondary Coach & D-Line Coach. I know thats a pipedream so I’d Love Eric Bienemy as Off Co. And Mike McDonald as Def Co.

    Steven White

Anthony Weaver is going to be good he’s a former raven he’s a good D-Line coach

    Cesare Antonio

@Bryant Bailey i tell you again Bienemy is a glorified gofer, he ain’t no great playcaller cause he ain’t the one calling the plays, it comes out in interviews how much he is really is involved in the offense. Keep being naive and sheep to the narrative but facts are he hasnt been hired for a reason and is only a OC in title only.

    Bryant Bailey

No narrative. Eric and Reid both call plays. Have for years.

    Cesare Antonio

@Bryant Bailey yea ok sure 🙄

    Bryant Bailey

“It amazes me, honestly,” Mahomes said. “If you look at his track record, the way he’s able to coach us, the way he’s able to lead men, to be able to lead a locker room of people from every different background, every different race, everything like that, and to be the leader of a locker room is a special talent. He’s able to do that. And the way he’s able to go about calling plays throughout the game. We have Coach Reid, and Coach Reid calls plays, but there’s a ton of input from Coach Bieniemy and he calls a ton of plays in our game plan and it gets overlooked.”

Dalton Exline

This man makes me feel like I can pick the world up and take it to heaven were everyone would be happy.

Bryant Bailey

He will always be the best motivator in nfl history

Jordan Davis

I wanna get back to the AFC championship, and Super Bowl so bad

Anjelo Roces

I find this speech after every ravens loss. it helps a lot

Brock

Ray-vens. Still my favorite

J C

He really wanted to say “God never made a mistake, but Billy Cundiff sure as hell did!”

    Steven White

He didn’t because we got Justin Tucker after that miss kick

Michael Hession

10 years later, we are in an identical situation. New coordinators, QB on 5th year option, Cap Hell coming, transition on both sides of the ball, new contenders in our division except this time stronger, expectations supreme around B-More, and no one across the national media will give us a chance. I smell a trip to Arizona next February, if we are healthy, and figure out the right coordinators to hire most likely on both sides, and take that next step in the playoffs, WE CAN WIN IT ALL AGAIN! #BIGTRUSS!

    Kai Clark

@O1dBay I always wanted to keep Mark Ingram as a locker room presence mor so than for his on field production. Him mixed with Calais Campbell would have been dope.

    Robert Dupey

    TES BIG BIG TRYSS MAN!
WHAT AN AWESOME INSPIRING SPEECH BY RAY LEWIS!!!
WE WILL NOUNCE BACK IN 2022!
    Just watch us!!!

    Scratchy Throat

@Unknownerror Lamar being a MVP yes. SB contenders no. And stop worrying about our team and worry about your own🤨

    Unknownerror

@Scratchy Throat I am a ravens fan lol. Since 05 and the media was talking about the ravens mid season when they were the #1 seed at 8-3

    Jeff Martin

@O1dBay My wife said the same thing the other day. When Ray retired we had Sizzle. But as much as I loved him, it wasn’t the same. Since he left, we’ve had guys like Mark Ingram, Calais Campbell and others being leaders in the locker room. But again, nowhere close to being the same. There was, and will only be, ONE Ray Lewis. Period.

Andrew Rout

I’ll never forget the heartbreak of that loss, and then being uplifted listening to Ray. Little did we know at the time, but we sure did come back and finish the job the following season 🙂

    illmatic2877

Yeah that 2011 Ravens loss hurt. I knew we would miss that fg to tie. That 2012 playoff run was something special. I watch the highlights at least once each year.

    JumpOffBiggSean

I remember sitting on the couch watching the Lee Evans drop catch, and the missed fg just feeling crushed. I sat in that spot for at least two hours in shock.

    Trey Wilson

@JumpOffBiggSean lol bro I cried when cundiff missed that kick

    BIG BATES

Hell yeah we did. I was hoping the bills would finally get one this time. Damnnn smh 🤦🏾‍♂️ oh well next year Lamar getting his revenge on The bills & KC. 💪🏾

    Andrew Rout

@BIG BATES Yeah the Chiefs are quietly approaching dynasty mode, we need to put an end to that now. I have no doubt BAL has the best team in the league when healthy.

P Harvey

Thankyou Ray Lewis for speaking life to this Brotherhood, love me some Ravens and of course Action Jackson, Peace , Power & Love 💜

Yessirski

This is the era that made me love football

Official J Dixon

we need this energy back. missing uncle Ray!

Denis Johnson

Imagine coming into the league, being the 2nd ever overall pick on a brand new team & leading them to a Super Bowl Championship w/zero offense; all defense. . .w/the Greatest Defense in NFL History as you take your first DPOY award. The team hadn’t even had a winning season yet.

Then, you get knocked out in the divisional round (01). You miss the playoffs entirely during your 2nd DPOY campaign (03). You lose in the 1st round after the team’s best regular season ever w/another all-time great NFL defense; maybe the best ever (06). You’re cheated out of defeating the undefeated Patriots & miss the playoffs again (07). You lose *THREE* times to your bitter rivals & miss the Super Bowl (08). You whip the Patriots at home in the playoffs, then lose to Peyton. . .again (09). You let your bitter rivals come back from a huge deficit & end your season. . .again (10). You lose on a dropped touchdown pass at the end of the 4th quarter and a missed chip-shot field goal in the freakin’ AFC Championship game. . .

. . . *AND THIS IS HOW YOU SPEAK TO THE TEAM AFTERWARDS????* There was no one better, folks. That’s it. That’s all of it.

Jacob Bullock

I honestly think that this loss was one of the best losses for the ravens franchise, it built a hunger and fire in all the players and I think ot really motivated them for greatness.

DaSean Harris

The fact that we came back that next year and won the bowl is living proof this man can motivate

Timothy Park, MBA

Love my man Ray… come back strong next year my boys!!!

DJ Munchy

This single handedly won us the super bowl the following year 😅💯💜

Don't drink the Kool-Aid

This was the beginning of that 2012 Ravens SB run. This laid the groundwork for that next year.
