Haas Jacinto Martinez

O Linemen giving a interview..gotta love it

Jonathon Bennett

I freakin love this dude he’s clearly a STUD and is so humble…. they ask him how he thinks he’s done so far (clearly very very well) this man says “umm I actually just like to focus on what I can improve on and do better” lol like what dude and hes a rookie we’re beyond blessed to have this guy on our team

    ceeelos

He should give some tips to Storm Norton lol

    Weston Roberts

He also owns a bearded dragon, which I think is pretty cool.

    Jonathon Bennett

@Weston Roberts I think it died if I remember correctly

    ceeelos

@Weston Roberts I have one too

    Weston Roberts

@Jonathon Bennett Nah, thankfully don’t think so. Not finding anything indicating that at least.

SLATER IS THE MAN ! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

The Gaming Society

His comments about the difference between the NFL game and the College game leads me to believe that he underestimates how much he has improved his game in his gap year.

    JamesRichard

That OLine school he went to in 2020 sure as heck paid off!

michael dailey

Herbert’s blind side is now 20/20 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CalifSoul56

Awesome job of watching J. Herb’s back.

evolintentz1

So glad we got Slater instead of Sewell….and I wanted Sewell….but this dude is so dope

    Jeffrey Bird

He’ll be a 1st team all pro this year.

JamesRichard

Rashawn Slater is a RARE TALENT! We got ‘em! For ONCE the left side is as good as there is in football! #70 is the best LT in the game & he’s a ROOKIE!

What a job Tom Telesco has done with 1st round picks… a SOLID A!

Chargers last six 1st round draft picks
2016 – Joey Bosa (3rd overall – A+)
2017 – Mike Williams (7th overall – A)
2018 – Derwin James (17th overall – A+)
2019 – Jerry Tillery (28th overall – B)
2020 – Justin Herbert (6th overall – A+)
2021 – Rashawn Slater (13th overall – A+)

@Randall Turner I agree Pff does have a subjective scoring system that sometimes doesn’t always tell the story but they break down every play so I like to use them as a reference but not the only thing I measure a player by..I like to watch film as well. You gotta like where the Chargers Oline is right now though. Lynsley and Feiler were what we expected when we signed them and Slater has been better then expected in my opinion obviously that right side do to injuries is weak.

    CJ B

@Randall Turner I like Slater alot but I see the same things you do. Hes undersized and not a physical prowess..I don’t think he’ll ever be as dominant as a Orlando Pace or Jonathan Ogden because he doesn’t have that dominant size to bully guys around. Where Slater dominates is being technically sound and good enough everywhere to not have any weaknesses. He will continue to improve every year and in my opinion will have a HOF type career just being consistent for 15 years.

    CJ B

@Randall Turner Oline will certainly continued to be addressed in the next few years. I think a solid right tackle wether in free agency or draft is only need. Aboushi is a solid starting right guard when hes back next year and I’m sure they will draft Oline with those 2nd-7th round picks to continue to build depth and potential starters.

    CJ B

@Randall Turner Well I certainly disagree about Telesco. He is a fantastic GM and hard to argue anyone drafts better then the Chargers. I think he drafted a pro bowler in the first round with 5 of last 7 picks. He seems to never miss with first round picks. He certainly has missed with those mid round picks like you were saying but who doesn’t. He also has hit on some later rounds picks as well. I can certainly think of a few that have underperformed ( Uchenna, Tillery, Lamp etc) but Kyzir white, Tranquill, Justin Jones all have promise. I think they will continue to address both Lines in the off-season as most good teams should. A good Oline or Dline can make up for alot of deficiency in other areas.

    Randall Turner

@CJ B re: Telesco – well, let’s wait and see how he does the next couple drafts. I’m less copacetic, but until we restructure Herbert’s contract we can continue to pick up some slack in free agency. Also – we need at least one quality OL backup, because with Feiler, Linsley and (Aboushi, ?) in their 30’s, he will end up starting.

adam dixon

Very confident, but relaxed guy. And has a great intelligence for the game. Dont even matter the age, alot of guys aren’t even as grounded as Slater. Im so damn happy we have him💪💪

Al J.

I luv it when the best pass rushers in the league punk out and decide to switch over to Storm’s side, looking defeated af 😩. lol 😆⚡⚡⚡

ScarMilly

Rashawn has changed how much I appreciate O-line

Hugo

I like this rookie man. Not just on the field where he’s dominating but as a person. He’s very well spoken communicative intelligent class act humble and always wanting to get better. What more can you ask for. Go Slater Go Chargers!

MerkinMuffly

Glad Chargers got this guy instead of Penei Sewell

    Young Oz Mr.28gramz

    He’s just on lions

    slee787

Penei would have been good too. Lions tried switching him to RT and they just absolutely suck right now so i feel bad for sewell lol

    Dr. cold beer

We gotta trade for penei in a couple years and have both

    Derrel Kingdom

@Young Oz Mr.28gramz he’s not bad at all but he ain’t slater

    jesken7

We’ll see who’s looking better in a few seasons

Carlos Wylie

I hope we get another guy like him for the other side.

Sean Juan

Rashawn has been a win win win pick. So nice to have a top O-line player while still young.

Eric Garcia
