We had so many chances towards the fourth quarter.

    27RAIDERMAN

The OL, Carr, the missed Penalties

    Gabriel

We had so many chances early in the game. We had 3 points in the entire first half, with Adams, Waller, Renfrow, and Jacobs on offense. There’s no excuse for that. If the Chargers kept playing hard, instead of playing conservative in the second half, we would’ve gotten blown out.

    RN4L420

Rust, it’s the first game for starters.

    TRAGEDY TURNED TRIUMPH

Sure did, Raiders just didn’t show chemistry & consistency

    Janoy Cresva

Carr stinks. But i think he’ll be better the more comfortable he is with this book.

IcyOwens

With all those picks, we still had a chance to win it. Lots to look forward to

    Janoy Cresva

    Like more fumbles and picks.

    Bad Cornflakes

    @Janoy Cresva Damn pessimist

    RN4L420

Reall football fans understand the game

Double D

Probably one of the toughest defense we see all year and was still in it. New scheme both sides of the ball. Hopefully they learn from the mistakes.

    Double D

@Aaron Adams you all said the same thing last year, and was sitting out of the playoffs. Week one, don’t get too excited, worry about who you play next…lol

    Ernesto Gastelum

@Double D we said that in the beginning of the season of last year because Lombardi was playing conservative. Until the 3rd game when he let Herbert play more aggressive. Hes doing the same thing he did last year and theres Raiders fans who agree with that statement

    Double D

@Ernesto Gastelum bro he threw for almost 300 yards and had 3 tds. That’s top of the league what is conservative about that. Dam they should hire you as OC. Sometimes you have to give credit to the defense. 2nd half Raiders made adjustments as far as coverage . Not every team can play the way the Chiefs do. Not every game is the same either.

    Cobham's Finest

@Double D Those stats were mostly in the first half. Do the math. Stop trying to give your defence credit when in fact your defence sucks.

    Double D

@Cobham’s Finest lol… raiders living rent free, why you here…lmao. never catch me on any other afc west channel. Freaking rent free!

Don McTyer

Carr had mad options underneath on that Waller play…Renfrow and Bolden on the pivot routes was an easier read. Definitely need to go back to that.

    Janoy Cresva

Thats what Tom Brady was so good at in this system. If the OL wasnt holding up, there was always the quick passes.

darryl jones

Defense kept us in it!!! Got to run ball too!!!!

Reb Critzer

It’s only one game. We lost in LA last year too but won against them when it meant the most. Just sayin.

David Combs

Honestly. With all the turnovers, and chargers playing a perfect game. The fact that we barely lost by 5 is a little comforting.

Just need to get a well balanced running game with passing and Derek needs to spread the ball. Just working out the kinks. We’re gonna be ok. Long season ahead of us

    Raiders for life

Facts people be tripping over game one

    jay fairman

    @Raiders for life exactly

    Clyde Swadener

The chargers got conservative on offense and started playing prevent defense

    Raiders for life

@Clyde Swadener ya right when you down 5 in the fourth quarter you don’t play conservative even your quarterback said it himself that they need to play better in the second half

J Harris

I love DC but he is wrong, it wasn’t a matter of aggression, it was a matter of accuracy. He threw behind Waller and short to Adams, that’s 11 points on those two throws. With that said, I have faith in this team going forward.

    Ronnie Boy

@shannon churchill exactly but I guess on a positive note all the turnover and sacks we lost by 5. You know what else I don’t understand about DC is that I’ve seen him before be more mobile like look at the colts game last year he played lights out stepped up in the pocket he even ran for first downs he did EVERYTHING right and pulled of the upset but man when we play the chargers he’s has cement feet. Maybe bosa was right you hit him its a wrap he gets all jittery what do you think??

    John Hurdle

Yes without game speed practice. Is the cause of the passes off. But the O-line has to get better. Parham is awesome. I pray James gets back.

    Yoruba Pryor

I agree. Maybe ha e them play the first drive of the last preseason game?

    Isaiah Ayers

@Ronnie Boy Carr is consistently graded as one of the best deep ball throwers in the NFL. Those are supposed to go up high to let the receiver track it down and go past the defender. A line drive throw is too difficult to place and risks hitting the defender in the back or allowing them to swat it.

    Isaiah Ayers

He’s right and wrong. The aggressiveness led to more difficult, risky, down field passes instead of something shorter that was wide open. But yes, those were great reads that he should have been able to complete as well.

Muhammed Macdaddy

Yes I’m mad, because we should have easily won this game. Yes o-line got beat a lot, forcing DC to make some hurried throws and sacks…But the team got better on both sides of the ball as the game went…Yes Chargers are a very good team, but I have faith in McDaniels and his coaching staff..Raiders will still hurt a lot of feelings this year………RAIDER NATION….THE ORIGINAL NATION….

René BT

I went to this game. Never felt like the team couldn’t come back and win. Never felt like the team needed a change or heading in the wrong direction. Watching the highlights hypes me up more

    Nasario Gomez

Exactly!! For the 1st time I felt like this team can keep up with anyone. Last season I didn’t feel that way.

_Gnarkill_

Let’s put this into perspective. Raiders played a pretty bad game. Defense was decent. Chargers played an excellent game and we still almost beat them. If we can get this o line to be average we’ll do great things.

BismoGlungis

What I’ve learned from the game was Josh Jacobs is still really good, Nate Hobbs is underrated, and DC to DA is going to work.

    shannon churchill

In about 3-4 more weeks, Nate Hobbs will no longer be underrated, I guarantee it. He’s my breakout pick this year. I was at the game, and during warmups I pointed him out to my buddy and told him to keep his eye on him, he was on the rise. Saving my receipts.

    James Clary

Also the O-line is good enough.

Jeff Garrison

I’m proud of this Raiders team, they fought hard, never gave up and had a chance to win in the end. No worries. It’s all good. We got this!!! This Raiders Team is going to be amazing!!! Especially now that we got our preseason game out of the way!!!
Just Win Baby!!!
RN4L

    Galactic Goo

I had a gut feeling they were gonna lose this first game on the road the same as I have a gut feeling its going to be a fun great season

Daniel Madden

Good to see Waller making catches…I hope he has a good season….

shandiggz

This game was a learning experience, it will keep the team humble and hungry. Chargers are a good team. No reps in preseason showed. Once this team figures it out, it’s gonna be great. We will get our rematch Dec 4th!!! RN4L!!!☠️☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🖤🖤

Rodney Jackson

Chargers biggest weakness is run defense, yet we didn’t run, when Jacobs got the ball good things happened

Galactic Goo

Great to see Cle Ferrill holding it down against run

Kevin Kaatz

I would’ve kept handing off to Jacobs. But bottom line : Starters gotta PLAY IN PRESEASON. PERIOD!

uso_Jus2SmooTh94

God I hope our team learns from this loss. Especially Carr. Coaches need to work on everything that went wrong Sunday. Even on some questionable play calls. And our defence still needs work.

Last year was crazy and this year might be no different. This is going to be a long season.

Daunte Wimmer

We had a lot going on heading into this first week. New coaches, new systems, new players. Chargers had a lot more consistency heading into this first game than us. We’ll see them again later on. This time with a good understanding the team, systems, and chemistry. We’ll be a different animal the 2nd time around we play 😈
