Growing up in Idaho I was raised a lifelong Denver fan. I started watching Denver with my father when I was 7 years old (I am now 48). Denver football was so important to my father that after he passed away in 2001 my family purchased a commemorative brick with his name on it that now sits in the build of the new Broncos stadium. While It makes sense that people who do not understand the game of football would try to blame Russell Wilson for Denver’s losses I didn’t expect that from people who do claim to understand football!! Now let’s talk about the thousands of sports analysts and pundits across the sporting world who supposedly understand the game of football that have also wrongly blamed Russell for everything. The endless chatter by pundits claiming outright that after nine pro bowl years Russell Wilson suddenly lost all football acuity and skill and is solely responsible for Denver’s failure is disgusting! Honestly anyone who claims to be an expert but made this claim should be embarrassed!! It was initially confusing that so many who claim to truly understand the game of football said such ridiculous things! . That was until it became obvious that the majority sports analysts and pundits simply repeat ehat other pundits claim. They love to tear down and attack. If that wasn’t the truth then the majority of these supposed football experts would immediately point to the embarrassing and dangerous play by the Denver offensive line in 2022! The offensive line is the main failure point next to the offensive scheme! People who understand football knows that It doesn’t matter what quarterback was in the huddle for the Denver Broncos in 2022 because that quarterback would have been immediately running for his life! Football experts understand any quarterback under immediate pressure with no time to go through checkdowns and progressions on schedule will fail the majority of the time !! Simply put any actual football expert would immediately understand It’s impossible to have good consistent quarterback play without at least mediocre protection from the offensive line!! As stated before Russell Wilson ran for his life much of his time in Seattle but it was never anything like Denver’s pathetic pass and run protection! FACT Anyone who mentions Russell Wilson as the main culprit for this year’s failures is immediately exposed as someone looking to gossip and does not have the ability to troubleshoot the game of football. Now that we’ve talked about the horrid offensive line play let’s talk about Denver’s 2022 offensive scheme. The offensive scheme implemented by Nathaniel Hackett could only be successful IF theoffensive line play was anything more than satisfactory. The Denver offensive scheme relied on great protection for the quarterback which then would allow Denver’s wide receivers to run mostly late breaking vertical routes with their backs to the quarterbacks . Denver’s offensive line was horrible. Wide receivers knew that offensive line was NOT CAPABLE of protecting Russell for very long. So you have to ask, Denver’s Wide receivers were fully aware in the huddle and before the snap of the ball there is a high likelihood their quarterback would immediately be pressured. If Denver’s wide receivers this fact then why did they rarely break out of their routes to help him? Wide receiver 101, Good wide receivers are absolutely responsible for breaking off routes and providing a target. The only possible way to this year Denver could have had consistent completed passes is if wide receivers took this responsibility seriously. The huddle should sound something like this: “okay , We know the offense libe can’t stop the defense from getting to me on every play so from here on out boys, It’s schoolyard rules! ” I’m going to scramble like a wild man and you’re going to get open! Moving forward we’re going to play the whole game that way. The only thing that would change is on a run play tell your wide receivers to block on the outside and the running backs are going to run behind you. Unfortunately what happened was the opposite. By the time Denver’s wide receivers looked for the ball Russell Wilson had already been sacked or thrown the ball out of bounds. So once again every pundit across the sports universe that has personally and ridiculously attacked Russell Wilson have proven they don’t understand the game. Yes there were plays where Russell did have open receivers and missed them. He could improve on that. However any QB knowing that 99% of the time you’re offensive line would not hold would miss passes. To the “experts” Ask yourself why has Tom Brady been able to perform at such a level throughout his career. Because his offensive line protects him!! What is one of the only ways to prevent Tom Brady from having success? Pressure!! Replace Wilson with Brady. Do you think Brady would have dominated the AFC West and the Broncos Jersey?? Patrick mahomes think you to dominated in the Denver Jersey in 2022? If you are a sports pundit and an expert and you answer yes once again you are proving you have no clue how the game of football actually works!! When teams beat Tom Brady how did they do so? Pressure! Now ask yourself why has Patrick Mahomes been able to consistently have such success when getting pressured or having to run out of the pocket? It’s because Kansas wide receivers are fully aware of their duty to help protect their QB by coming back and getting open!! Let’s hope the pundits and “sports experts” don’t actually believe the endless crazy successful plays at Kansas City where Patrick is flushed out of the pocket are actually scripted? Sports Expert don’t actually think the crazy scramble plays are actually drawn up and called in the huddle??? Do the sports analyst actually think in Kansas City playbook has scramble drills listed and called?? Kansas City Hall “Okay boys this is what we’re going to do, I you run around in 3 random circles, 1:00 wise and two counterclockwise and Travis Kelsey You run side to side three times take two steps back and stand on the right hash on the 30 yard line, other wide receivers should around in random circles and after all of our circles are completed Patrick will run towards the line of scrimmage on the left hash mark and hit valdes scandling as he exits his third circle!” Every person who’s ever played football even in their backyard knows how a scrambled drill works. Every person who’s played even simple backyard football understands that just because the initial Play is called in the huddle has two wide receivers running deep posts a tight end to run settling to the flats doesn’t mean that route cannot be changed when the quarterback is being chased. Do these extras believe coachesb Tell there receivers Even if the quarterback is under CONSTANT RELENTLESS pressure It’s his responsibility to protect himself and wide receivers should make sure to run the identical route called in the play! It’s the quarterback’s fault He doesn’t have enough time to hit you!! NOT!! All of the sports experts seems to believe the false assumptions that a good NFL quarterback is always good no matter what scheme and how much protection they get. Good quarterbacks are all you need to have a good team. Anyone that doesn’t understand why Russell doesn’t have 37 passing touchdowns this year should not be critiquing an NFL football teams! These experts should not be critiquing any football team for that matter!! Who needs an offensive line when you have a good quarterback right?!? Once again I have a deep connection and desire for success for Denver Broncos. How many of these sports experts will admit how wrong they were by working to destroy Russell Wilson and his reputation the entire year of 2022?? How many will be embarrassed for proving they really don’t understand football at all? My prediction zero!! The sports analysts and pundits deep contempt for Russell Wilson will suddenly turn to praise! They will then claim “This is Russell Wilson!! We never had any doubt that he would be successful in Denver!”. Well that will be their claims right after they scrub their social media sites of all the childish and gossip like insults they have spread about Russell Wilson!! Since when in the United States does everyone relentlessly repeat identical claims that are easily proven false??

I hope the Chargers don’t play the backups, it would be boring to see the local media and a lot of desperate fans for hope, overreacting a win. I expect Paton to select a talented QB on Day 2 or 3. Hendon Hooker, Jaren Hall, Max Duggan, Clayton Tune, good options.
