Never been this pumped for the Lions!
Was a little worried it was going to be another shoot out after that first quarter but Detroit’s defense settled down and anytime you can hold a team to under a hundred yards passing in an entire NFL game that’s impressive.
Also Detroit’s rushing offense was a thing of beauty to watch today. That Swift run after halftime on third and long was so impressive, Jameson Williams showing his explosive speed on his sweep play was impressive , Jamaal Williams ran like the alpha dog he is and I started him in my fantasy lineup today so thank you Jamaal , that offensive line dominated with there run blocking and kept Goff clean who had a 130+ passer rating today (against a bad defense) but still he played great he only had that one bad pass on that late fourth down which they didn’t even need but was otherwise lights out.
I know Chicago has a bad offensive line but regardless getting constant pressure on a QB as athletic as Fields all game long and sacking him seven times was impressive.
Hutchinson and Houston are absolute studs. They still have the Okwara brothers , Charles Harris , and Cominski to move around with McNeil and Buggs in the middle of that line and they looked great today and hopefully will hit rodgers just as much next sunday.
All three phases of the game they looked prepared and executed well that’s a great win.
Well, an agree to with most of what you said. But keeping up. There is one Okwara left. Julian is done for the year. Charles Harris is done too. If is up to what23 have in the field now.

@Thomas Mulhern Romeo Okwara Julian Okwara , and Charles Harris are all under contract next year is why I named them off and because those three are more of pure pass rushers then John Cominski who is still a really good player but more of a stout inside edge who’s strong against the run and I guess I was thinking more about all the possible options with all those edge players Detroit suddenly has on paper so that with having Romeo Okwara and Charles Harris who are more established players on a very young starting roster and still having Julian who looks like he still hasn’t even reached his complete potential yet is exciting to think about the future.
I guess Levi is probably going to bust tho from health alone so hopefully they bring back Cominski next off season.
Paschal looks strong exactly like he looked in the SEC and of course Hutchinson and James Houston have looked like two top guys already so I definitely think no doubt
Brad Holmes has been better at adding talent to the defensive front then all previous Detroit Lions GM’s combined this century already after his first two years alone mostly because the previous GM’s were that bad at their job but still.
Now I would like to see Brad Holmes remake the secondary to give this front more time to pressure QBs and stop the run.
If the lions don’t make the playoffs, it was an interesting season for them. Hopefully they go into the off-season and clean up there mistakes and miscues, Next season let’s secure a playoff spot early, GO lions can’t wait till 2023-2024 season.
Playoff or not I love these Lions 🦁 I would’ve gave up after the 1st 7 games but they fought to the very end 1 pride!!!
No matter what happens next week, just remember a few things: how many wins were we expected to get this year? 5, maybe? We were 1-6 at one point, and we’re one win away from being in the playoffs. Win or lose next week, you have to be happy with the direction this franchise is going. The off-season will be exciting because I think Campbell and Holmes have made Detroit a favorable destination for free agents. If they fortify their weakness through FA and another couple good draft picks, they’ll be a contending team for next year and beyond.
Exactly bro… I’m sure there will be the SOL fans that will be screaming and being negative if we lose or miss the playoffs. But what they fail to realize is this is a 2nd year of a total tear down and rebuild. We weren’t even supposed to be in the playoff conversation and most teams would have mailed it in and the HC would have lost the majority of the locker room. Fortunately for us they stayed focus and kept fighting. So no matter what happens with Green Bay just know the NFL is on notice…. Particularly the NFC north cause we are for reals and the foundation is set along with the culture change. This season could be the season that starts a long and awaited winning dynasty that we’ve all be longing for.
Even if we don’t win in Green Bay or if we do win and don’t make the playoffs, the progress this team has made in 1.5 seasons cannot be ignored. The future is bright!
