PJ Walker: It didn’t feel like us

Baker had two dropped interceptions too that were horrible and he was lucky they got dropped by the defender. Not saying PJ looked much better but Baker was out there playing against a Bengals team that was playing vanilla/conservative in the second half and already resting/sitting guys for next week. Just saying, keep the context in mind that if those balls get caught, Baker has 2 picks as-well that look terrible against a conservative/2nd string team (not entirely, but some guys came out).

I know we all like our knee-jerk reactions but Baker looking barely better is as much on the fact that the Bengals defense started playing conservative in the third/4th quarter when up by like 40 points. Every QB starts to look good in those situations because they don’t care if you ‘dink and dunk’ on them anymore since that’s not what will lose them the game anymore.

@Raizen Mazoku I feel you on that, neither player looks like our way forward into the future. We can just never bring it together at once: when our defense looks good our offense sucks, when our offense finds a rhythm our defense falls apart, when we look promising our star players get hurt, when we give up and all hope is lost and accept our season is over we somehow win 😂 we’re like a leaky ship and we keep patching one hole just for two more to spring loose somewhere else.

@rrr rrr yeah I totally agree with you and probably really ain’t going to matter next year when we draft another qb and spend the next 5 years rebuilding repatching hole after a hole after hole.
We really haven’t had a real Squad like we did when we went to the Super Bowl in 03-04 season. jake stepped off the f****** bench in week 2 and shined the whole season with deep balls, to the stiff arm master Steve Smith and big moose Muhammed we had the dual running threat with steven davis amd Deshaun Foster. Are damn defense was a f****** beast with a killer front 4 peppers, buckner, jenkins, and rucker backed up by pro bolwers like Mike minter and dan morgan and will Witherspoon should have been a pro bowler he was a beast too.

@rrr rrr I don’t care what anybody says about Jake delhomle he was the best quarterback we ever had. I would take him in his prime over Cam Newton any day. JAKE played his best in that Super Bowl and Newton choked and was millers play toy

He not good that’s how. What BFL team hypes up a 4th string qb. If you had blind faith on a man who played decent against bucs and terrible against alanta and even more terrible against bengals.

@Jay PTA Played good against the bucs and played excellent against atlanta. But this game was terrible. He went from throwing one of the best passes in the past 10 years to throwing 2 of the worst picks.

@Ragtime4 I’m beginning to agree with that. At first after the first few games of this new season, I thought we were okay with the defense. But now, I am seeing that Shaq and Jeremy need help with Burns and Horn possibly staying. Maybe Dante is done and needs to retire bc he’s hurt all the time but he’s still making plays.

I’m just confused about the status of this team except to say that they still need to continue to get people to strengthen the O-line too and now the defense. They could use a reputable WR bc DJ is still not knowing his routes.

@thygreatmark Wow!!! I watched some videos last night about his history and thought that maybe he was coming into his chance to prove greatness but he literally threw a couple bonehead INTs. He lost his composure and they didn’t give him a chance to get it back.

Fans can be manic. Part of the American condition generally. PJ did do some good things the last couple weeks. Maybe he showed enough to get one more shot at home. Also couldnt blame them for switching back to mayfield.

An honest evaluation of today’s game should include the pickable ball thrown by mayfield that the defender dropped.

They should honestly give him another shot against atlanta. He tore up their defense last time he played them.
